These trails are my top ones. After that I plan on going to Mt Zion National Park, Capital reef, Toquerville falls, and Bryce Canyon.

edit: list of places I've found that would be worth checking out.

    Bryce canyon
    dixie national forest
    island in the sky
    needles
    capitol reef national park
    canyonlands national park
    arches national park
    zion national park
    top of the world
    Toquerville falls
    Antelope canyon
    Goblin canyon state park

Granted I know there won't be time to look at everything but this is just a list. I also don't want to rush through everything trying to do as much as possible and miss something.

Another thing is we need a list of what parts everyone is bring. There is no sense in everyone buying all the same shit, I personally don't plan on taking any trail that will risk breaking anything. Same with recovery gear. I have a chain and tow strap. We need to figure out a itinerary so it'll give us a better idea of where we will be and what we can plan for. what days we will be closer to a town and when we need to make sure we are gassed up, fed up, and showered up. I think most of the national park with have place to camp and shower.

I think we just need to have a meeting at Brians garage one day and plan it out. Keeping up with individual comments on here isn't going to go well.

Here's a post from earlier. If we all can chime in and reach agreement on Area BFE as our first point of arrival then we are making a good start. Also willing to offer my home up for a group planning session (also in Huntsville). Sooo, please say yes or no to Area BFE as our initial camping site.

Brian and I talked extensively a few nights ago and after some research (and I have another friend who has been there before) BFE will be a good choice in central places to stay. Reasons:

    1. Free
    2. Can accommodate hundreds of vehicles
    3. Just down the road from Moab (12 miles or so) so those that want a hotel are nearby
    4. Central to the majority of the trails and a lot of them right in the area although most are rated difficult
    5. Good place to rendezvous at night (many of the campgrounds require reservations and are just not central to all the trails)

I plan to go about 2 days earlier to visit family in Salt Lake and probably can be in BFE ahead of planned day of arrival to scope it out and find a place that will house us all and hopefully with some of the nicer camp sites to stay at.

Link is here (check the videos for a look at the place) - Area BFE www.areabfe.com/

Always open to moving to another campground at some other point.

    Comments please.

Progress is being made!!! Agree with the idea that we have a get together for as many as can attend. Brian has also made a list of the 25 trails he would like to hit at Moab (some are tied in together) but neither him nor I have discussed side trips outside of Moab. I would say that is up to the individual. As for getting together, I have a 4 trips around CONUS over the next 3 months to include Moab. My best weekends (and I assume we are looking at meeting on a weekend but I am not adverse to a weeknight) are the first three weekends of April. The earlier probably the better as May will be right around the corner.

What is AOP and what are the dates? Vote one of the following dates:

    1-2 Apr
    7-8 Apr

I am tied up 22-23 Apr and much later than we won't to meet.

Earliest dates so we have plenty of time to sort out details.
