Hey thanks Austin Tacoma Group for an awesome morning and get together. It was great to meet everyone who turned out in the early morning darkness and cold! Wow, impressive, up goes the pop up tent, out comes the grills and stoves, hot coffee, - how could it get any better!! The group had a shout out like Chad said because they were awesome, and really identifiable as a cool group. Hurray! I was proud to be able to be with you all as a Canadian outsider. Haha, and I met the real Chadspride, how cool is that!! Good job guys and thanks for including me!

Right on, good to know. I bought a switch pro off someone on there and figured I'd drop in a hello.

I want to plan a trip to big bend and have been collecting trip reports. There are a couple of good ones in there.

The coffee was great, the breakfast was great, the weather was crap, and we had great people out there. 3 out of 4 ain't bad!

 

Oh, and I still have some TW stickers that some of y'all need. @wagerhope, you're still needing one, right?

 

I really want to make a trip out there. Have you tried the Texas Overland group on Facebook? There's a ton of info on there. I swear at least once a week someone is asking what the best camp spots are.

 

Yes I have for sure. Lots of great info and routes there. I'm gonna keep collecting parts and trip info until I feel like I've got enough gear or enough friends who come along who do

It has been a loooooonnnnggggg day.
Started with C&C then spent the rest of day at Hidden Falls with the Hart Of Texas Off Road Culb.
Even though they are open to any off road vehicle, all 10 trucks were Toyotas.
Trails were sloppy but we had a great time and best of all, everyone went home with no known damage.

 

When are you thinking of trying to go to Big Bend?
Depending on the schedule I wouldn't mine making that trip.

 

To be honest, I'm fairly open on my scheduling. I figure it would need to be before it gets too hot, or after. I'm not sure all my gear will be here by then. Bamf sliders due in 5/21. I need to see how hot it gets in June.

Addition: low 90s in June.... I thought it would be in the 100+ range

 

As someone who has camped a lot in Texas in June I can answer that question for you, Damn Hot!
But not as hot as July & Aug.

Are you waiting on truck equipment or camping equipment?

 

Both actually. I've heard there is a CVT group buy end of March and I want an RTT. And sliders are due 5/21. Suspension due here in a month
