KB Voodoo Remote Start Review

Just a quick update on this. Iv tried from various places to see how far this will start. Best record is 100ft away in a second story passing through multiple walls!

 

Do climate control settings turn on with this?

 

Yes they do. You just have to set it on whatever you want before exiting the vehicle. I set mine to windows and feet full blast full heat!

 

Looks like I know what I am getting myself for christmas this year.

So tempted, I guess my biggest gripe is what everybody says about the process of having to crank your truck twice. I get the safety reasons, I just wish someone could figure out how to bypass it so once I remote start the truck it won't shut off when I enter the vehicle...this looks like a great mod though

 

If that was going to happen it would have already by now unfortunately. Blame Toyota.

 

How long does the engine stay running? Does it automatically shut off after a certain time?

 

Believe nick posted that it was set to 20 minutes in another thread.

 

Did you use 3M splices, positap, or solder? Just curious as to which method you used and what you'd recommend.

a friendly-Canadian here, safe to assume this voids the Tacoma warranty after install is that correct?

love the idea and your ingenuity behind this product, just don't wanna risk messing anything up with the install if its going to void warranty.

 

It'll 100% void the warranty of any components directly involved, and depending on the problems you have and the dealership you deal with, they may try to blame other (distant) problems on the remote start, claiming that all electrical systems are tied together and affect each other, or something along those lines.

This isn't meant to dissuade you from the product - just a reality that you should be aware of when doing this (or any other) modification.

 

I ordered mine Friday from kb voodoo. Got the confirmation email, thought I would get the shipping email as well;due to the fact the site says all parts in stock...so we will see when I actually get it
