    Okay, really lame question, but can you "navigate" around a phone and not have to worry about service for the time being :notsure:?

    @uhplifted Brian, I went with Project Fi and should be getting my phone by this Wed, possibly :notsure:. I got the Nexus 5X because it was the only one I could realistically afford and did some research and I like from what I've been hearing about Project Fi!!! I'm definitely NOT a phone fanatic like most, but from my understanding, I would agree, from what I do know, that Project Fi wouldn't be good for everyone. For me, simple calling, text, and on occasion, data, but very rare with the data. At least now I'm not looking over my shoulder for minute usage!!!

    It's:
    $20 calling/text
    $10 1GB data
    $5 for protection plan (optional, but I got it anyways)

    Since I won't be using data too often, only if I have to, I would get credited back the $10!!! So, only $25/mo. I've used "data" on my prepaid so, not really using data very often I'm used to anyways. What mainly got me finally to change was simply not really being able to talk because I noticed I saved more minutes by texting, but that was becoming a major PITA after a while, LOL!!!

    Anyways, if you come this Thursday to the meet, I SHOULD have my phone by then, but no service yet. I want to finish MOST of what I have left on my prepaid first. I need to start using the PFi phone within 30days though or the price of the phone goes up, LOL!!!

    Thanks Brian!!! :thumbsup::fistbump:

    I don't think you can do what you want. You'll just have to activate it. Put it off as long as you can would be my suggestion for you.

    Ya you can do that, but I'd assume you need to activate it with service to avoid the up charges he mentioned

    Will the phone even "boot up" without the sim card? Can I fart around with the wifi part of the phone by connecting to Terreux's wi-fi, for example? I want to get used to the menu system and figure I can do certain things without activating is what I'm getting at. I've had my prepaid for quite some time now and still learning new shi-* about it, LOL!!! Like I said, NOT much of a phone fanatic, LOL!!!

    Thanks guys for the input.

    Btw, I have possible good news, but still through a temp agency, but better than nothing right now!!! I won't know until sometime next week for an update?! FINALLY!!! :thumbsup::fistbump:

    Yes. You can still turn it on and get yourself setup on wifi without service. I still have an old iPhone that I use wifi only for from time to time
