Nice! what you described is very close to the JK bolt in shocks that King makes.

Did you buy from DSM? If you didn't spec the valving try to get it with a 12 flutter comp stack and 8 rebound stack. Or come to the front range and I can change the valving for you.

ADS or King couldn't do cylinder top caps?

Yes, DSMS. Told them my application and they said they were going to lookup some of their baseline charts. Maybe I'll follow up and see what they're doing compared to your recommendation.

Wouldn't mind you taking my truck for a spin and seeing what you think about the front coilovers though. Thinking some changes may benefit those, but will also reevaluate after I ditch the super bumps here in a bit. I'm gathering that riding on those isn't helping me.

DSMS called King while I was on the phone and said the only way to do it is if I bought the threaded coilover bodies. ADS might be able to do it, but when DSMS told me $500/shock and the regular extended length was like 29.6" I made up my mind.

Nothing wrong with running threaded bodies without coils on them. I call them cooling fins on my SAW's!

I think this is exactly what I wound up getting from DSMS on my 2.5x10s (that are still in the box...)

Im also considering taking my front super bumps off. They are nice for big hits..but generally..not worth it i think..

And the what would the over cylinder top caps do? im not sure i've heard of that..

When i talked to ADS, it seems most their bodies are a bit longer, even when i asked for a shortbody. I guess they don't want to sacrifice the oil capacity is what they told me.

Over the top caps allow the piston to travel inside them as they are threaded on outside the body VS inside like normal smooth bodies. You can get oil capacity back with a larger resi, longer or bigger diameter. Ask ADS for the shortest 2.5 shock you can fit and thier 5.25" resi's! I'm curious if they will do it.

I looked, there 5.25 doesn't even have a matching diameter resi, look like 3" maybe 3.5. Kinda hard to get a reference as the fucking body is so damn big.

Fox's cactus coolers are a better way to cool large body shocks than going even fucking bigger! TT's are bloated, I am seeing more than one V6 Diesel TT's being built right now, lighter, maybe faster, same powerish, and better than 2 MPG while on the pipe. at least one 4x4 too.

Yea fins are cool looking too :p

That sounds cool. I'd be curious as to why more people don't try to conserve weight in those. Surely a aluminum 5.3l LS motor with a nice tune in a semi light truck would be great. Granted, i get that doing a fully caged truck is never going to be "light" haha

That's TT spec. 85-87" wide sealed and tagged GM/Ford crate motor. 450ish HP

A heavy truck take big hits/holes great and big parts last longer with less than stellar drivers. Add 100+ gallons of 116 octane (for a 200 mile range), spare tires, some parts, tools, water, first aid kit, blah blah blah a semi competitive TT is pushing 7K race ready. A winning truck is around 6-6.5K. The trend now is going lighter like it was in the 80's and start chasing chassis cracks every race.

Spent all day in the garage, dual swingout is done except for adding stuff to the left side. Might still bolt up my dual scepter can holder.

    Will this suffice Monte? :luvya:

Bushings pressed in, also put new bushings in the other side.

Nice to finally have a good workbench and drill press:
