Yeah no difference between before and after. I can't see rotating the drive shaft doing much but worth a try, I would go through all the nuts and bolts to be 100% sure its nothing loose.

This stinks! I took off the rear drive and rotated it. It was more for it being seated correctly than placement on the flange. Worth a shot while it's off. The drivers side front cv axle looks like it's out slightly more than the passenger side. I removed it and put it back in with no change in how far it went in. It has the appropriate amount of jiggle back and forth telling me the c clip is engaged.
The test drive.... Strong vibration 35 to 45. At slower speeds(35 - 36) it feels like it's in the steering wheel and every other speed is in the seat. It sounds like it in the rear but there is not much externally and it all looks good. That's why I rotated the driveshaft on the flange. Oh.... the vibration gets worse acceleration and is a little bit less when I'm off the gas. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to call ECGS tomorrow too.

Could be the gears weren't installed properly. I don't know a whole lot but I know it's very technical and you need the correct spacing (offset/backspacing not sure what the correct word is) for the gears.

I am crossing my fingers it's the rear differential. I don't ever want to take out that front diff again. Once was enough. The rears I will do all day long.

Could try taking off the rear drive shaft and driving around to see if its still there. If not then you know its the rear. Wish I could help more but my mind is stuck in finals mode, last night to cram haha

How would that help? The diff would still turn/rotate and probably produce noise.

One way to pin point which diff would be to remove the rear driveshaft, put in 4x4 and jack up the front. Let the tires "drive" and see if it still there. If it is then you know it's the front if not it's the rear.

I couldn't be happier right now. The vibration source is found! I jacked up the rear of the truck and got the wheels turning 40 mph. The vibration was definitely there. Hallelujah! Now trying to figure out where it's coming from. I don't have a dial indicator so I made the closest thing that I could think of. Vise grips.20170313_174741.jpgI put the round adjustment nob on the back corner of the flange and turned the drive shaft.20170313_174838.jpg 20170313_174828.jpgIt's a little bigger than what the picture shows but you get the point. Bent flange!!!! ECGS was super cool about it and is sending a new flange out. Although he did say that he's never seen that before. Either way the problem is identified.

I hate those moments where you clearly weren't thinking. So I have this bent flange and I was frustrated because ECGS "new" flange won't get here till Thursday and the vibration is pretty bad. This morning I walked right past my old third members and Ding Ding Ding! Hello! I have a perfectly good one sitting right there. :facepalm:Swapped it out after work and the vibration is gone. Except it must have been bent pretty good as it broke the spring in the pinion seal. I'll take care of that another day.

Next mod day you guys have I might ask you fellas for some help lowering my 5100's a notch. Unsure about tools needed for the coil seat on the shock, so I'd definitely appreciate some guidance. I'll also try to get my headers beforehand as well to throw them on.

Any of you willing to brave the Ikea store before you head over for the mod day? I wanted to grab one of these carts but can't get there and to order it online costs allot more with shipping. I can hit you with PayPal or cash.

I'm starting to seriously think about selling the LandCruiser to finance another project. I'm wanting to put hands on this FJ45 with a Trakka camper roof conversion.

    IMG_3282.jpg IMG_3277.jpg IMG_3276.jpg

The only problem is that this one might be in too good of condition which I would shut down some of my plans as I'd feel a little bad chopping into something that is so pristine. But having a Troopy would be badass.
