NW WA Meet / BS Thread

Well, listening to the internet has screwed me again. A 255/80R17 spare does NOT fit in the spare tire location on a GX with KDSS. Not even close.

I've already bought a tire/wheel so I'd like to mount it inside. Anyone with a little welding skill (it seems like a simple task to me) want to make something for me? Essentially a triangle with an arm sticking out of it with some threaded "lugs" sticking off of it. Like maybe a circle with some bolts in it, head tack welded to the circle. Like a tire carrier for inside my vehicle.

Definitely! I just started doing little aftermarket things to the Tacoma and am looking for some kind of group or some shows to occupy myself and have some help. Have you heard of any meets/cruises/clubs in the area or anything?

Are you set on square tube? @Usethe2nd might have some 1.5" scrap tubing laying around and a welder to build what you need. Not sure if you have the material already.

 

I'd be up for a meet and greet and coffee and then plan outings. I generally just cruise around capital forest when I want out of the urban setting... Not sure what else is nearby

 

I am not set on anything but it fitting, and supporting the weight of a tire/wheel that will be standing up on the floor of my cargo area.

My buddy sank his 4Runner in the Nisqually somewhere right off of exit 116... I imagine there must be something fun to do there. I think you take the exit then turn right, right before you cross the bridge over the river.
