    Super cool!
And I agree the quicksand color is a actually perfect for the scale.

I plan on using some gloss black 1 shot enamel to black out the rims on mine.

Is thier a dedicated diecast/ auto model thread at TW? Aoshima makes some pretty cool toyota kits including a double cab Hilux Surf and a lifted 4Runner. Mid to late 90's versions.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/die-cast-tacomas.63776/page-20

Check out the die cast thread. I also build scale models, there's a company called Meng that makes a few really nice plastic kits based on the Tacoma and Hi Lux. They are SF versions but I think they also make civilian versions as well. They are nice kits. I've got to shove off for work but Ill pick this back up when I get home.
In order to swap out the wheels you need to drill out the two rivets on the bottom and take apart the truck. I'll go into more detail tonight...I believe there's a few you tube videos that will help ya.

What do you use to strip the paint off these? And what kinda painting do you use? I would love to do a custom version of the Red Lifeguard 2nd Gen Double cab Matchbox has! Thank you.
I used to play with Hotwheels/Matchbox until I was 12 lol

I use Muriatic Acid to strip off the paint, takes about 30 minutes. Some folks use pool cleaner too. I normally paint with an airbrush using enamel model paint. There are quite a few videos on you tube on disassembly and painting Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars.

Paint prns available at craft stores come in handy for smaller detail stuff.

That won't work... I started my evil vices before I got my drivers license. Good thought though.

Paint all stripped off. I used Airplane remover. Works in 10mins! Will paint the body as soon as it stops raining in Los Angeles.20180318_004346.jpg Gave it a nice lift and some 35"s on SCS. Also filed the rear windows a bit. I was hoping it'd look more like the double cab.20180322_193249.jpg Too bad I can't get the pro grille. Painted the grille and Fogs20180322_194511.jpgWill post more when im done. This has been a fun lil project!
