Also, its true, other than a Hard Reflash by TRD or BD apparently, thete is no tuning for these ECUs. Every 'tuner' on the market for us right now is still a chip effectively. All they do is intercept the signals going to our ECU, send what it wants out the engine and such and feed the ECU a cuddly signal saying everything is nice and stock.

Im sorry I should have said that I have the TRD reflash already but I'm wanting a tune for all the extra stuff I had it on. I went by dynosaur tuning in Fort Worth Texas spoke with a guy named Clint saying that his buddy can tune the 10-up tacomas using the map ecu3. So what I was wondering if anybody had successfully Got a good tune where the Tacomas ECU doesn't try to kick back the changes

I went to Dynosaur tuning the other day and I spoke to a guy named Clint he told me that he had a buddy that can tune the map ECU 3 to work on my 11 Tacoma. Also spoke to a guy PRT performance in Plano Texas saying that the guys that dynosaur had tuned a 12 an 14 Tacoma. I'm aiming for the end of the month to go give them a shot I still need a new fuel pump and get the urd y-pipe.

There was a group buy set up by @yota243 recently for the MAP ECU 3 he might be able to answer some of your questions about the MAP ECU.

Volcom's post said it all. The ecu doesnt kick back the changes because the mapecu altars the data making it think everything is normal.
Those shops probably can tune the mapecu.

I do have a small badge but I doubt anyone but me knows it's there. I don't mess with any mustangs or anything like that. I just use it when I need it to scoot a little faster for merging on the freeway and stuff like that.

It's a big dumb heavy pickup. I don't expect to win any races.

Yeah, I dont think anyone really notices the badges. I have had a couple people ask why I have gauges by the pillar.

One of my customers has one of those. Last time he was in the shop was for a new engine. The car is a 2012 GTI and shouldn't have trouble getting to 88, but a spark plug tip broke off and bounced around in the combustion chamber for a while.

How did the tip break off? Dang. That was one expensive plug.

The car had 80k on it. I have no way to prove what happened, but I think they were original plugs. The car may have had a misfire due to old plug or faulty coil or some other reason. If he kept driving it like that, things got a little hot in there and maybe the tip came off. Or maybe the plug was just old. The timing chain jumped a few teeth at some point, not sure if it was before or after the plug went. But all 8 intake valves were bent.

I don't usually even get into boost. But, I did have a Hummer mistakenly think he was faster.

I think I hit close to 7psi this morning, but it was also about 20* and I am probably 300ft above sea level if I stand on top of my house. That's the highest I have noticed it go since I installed my boost gauge. Stock pulley.

Edit: agree though, usually I am in vacuum hovering close to 0.

Question for you guys with a boost gauge. When does the whine start? I've always assumed if the sc was making noise/music it was in boost.
