Would there be an advantage to the 17s once/ If I get a lift in the future or will the 16s still be fine. With bigger tires I mean.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the 16 trd pro black because of the bigger side walls from what Odin said. But i do like the look of the Matte black on the 17s

Yea. I should have looked closer. I just thought the 16 n 17 pro's were exactly the same except for the size difference. My bad. They are actually completely different with a similar design. I'm running 275/70/17 ko2's

If this information is correct then I would also go with the 16 with better offset / 'wider track' ... you will be able to run bigger tires without needing wheel spacers etc (obviously there will be limits as to how big)

Mine had stock 17's and most everything that's not painted is matte black so thats the route I took. Matte looks better on some things and gloss on others. It's all what you like best yourself.

Congrats on the new truck. You can't go wrong with either choice. Both look great.

Lol yeah. He told me these are the biggest tires I could run 265 75. I think I will like the wider track also

Your TRD 16 inch wheels, can you use those with the stock tires from the 2016-17 TRD off road tires?

Mine came from the dealer already lifted with the basic readylift and tire, n wheels. I want the King and Total Chaos set up but can't afford it.

I will take a look at the king and total chaos but it's probably out of my price range to lol. I saw some toytec/boss ones I think that looked good. The extra Clearance would be nice for where I live but I'm going to see how it goes before I do anything.

The 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro has a 1" wider track than all other Tacomas, they achieve this with the 16" TRD pro wheel offset (0.5" either side). From everything I've red on this forum the 17" have the same offset as stock. BUT, I just looked at the 17" Pro wheels on the 4runner, and they also have a 1" wider track over the stock 4runner. So this could be a miss-information of 17" OEM Toyota TRD and 17" aftermarket TRD pro wheels. You should probably look into this further.

    --EDIT--

I just looked up the spec(s). (again this is from different places on the net, so take it with a pinch of salt)

    Toyota 16" TRD Pro
    16"x7" 13mm offset

    Toyota 17" TRD Pro
    17"x7" 5.5mm offset

    FN FX Pro (copies)
    17"x8" 5mm offset.

I purchased the truck with those rims and a set of bfg ko2 in size 265/70/16 which I believe is a stock size. I plan to run 265/75/16 when the current tires wear out. Nothing crazy.. should be no problem stock with no lift.

If I wanted to jump a couple sizes I would go with a 255/85/16 and still be on stock rims but would require a lift of course.

I hate the X#/#R# way of doing tires.

33x12.50x15 makes way more sense to me and is easier to understand the size vs. the stupid ratio crap.

The 'stupid ratio crap' is more precise. Unless you start listing tires 33.25x12.85x15 etc. That would be equally annoying ;)

Something else to note: If the dealer is covering the price, the 17" TRD matte black will sell for more $$ than the others if you decide to switch rims (like nearly everyone does!). Partially because they are pretty rare and they would look damn good on a 2nd gen (I've been casually looking for a set myself  ). Are the TRD "beadlock" rims actual beadlocks or just BS? I assume the latter.

So tell me how large the tires are in inches without using some tool. Compare two different ones without a tool. That's why it's stupid crap. I don't care about more precise in this instance. I just want to know if it's a freaking 33" tire or a 31" tire, what the width is and what wheel fits it. Much simpler.
