Youll love them! I just installed mine Monday. She now rides like my dream ride.

 

Yeah cant wait to install them. Right now I have the factory leafs with 1.5" blocks. I hope the dakars don't lift the truck higher than it is now. Right now the truck sits perfectly even.

I was worried about the same thing. I left the pack whole and ended up right around 24". Dclb with a Leer cap.

 

I went to a "local" shop; this shop is 35 minutes away from me. Don't bother with the dealership. The shop I went to only charges $50 for the alignment, not the usual rounded up ~$100 per hour most shops will charge. This particular place works on medium and heavy duty pickup trucks, so I imagine my Tacoma was child's play to them. I only learned about this place through a local friend on TW. I suggest you hop on your local TW thread and see what they suggest. I'd have just kept getting ripped off by Tire Pros, Goodyear, etc. etc. if I hadn't asked for suggestions.

You don't have to but I put 5100s in the back to get more out of the pack and for a better ride.

 

I've had my dakars on since the beginning of the year and I started to notice that my passenger side leans a bit. I installed the "+" leaf pack on the driver side and the "-" side on the passenger side. I'm getting a rear bumper with dual swingouts (tire on passenger side) and I was wondering what would the best way to fix this lean be? I always hear about the driver side taco and I understand that it's because the driver side is heavier. It may not be big to some but it's kind of bugging me now

 

Pretty much settled on a 885 & OME shock up front, aiming for 2-2.25" lift, so will probably throw a set of 1/4" spacers in the order to be on the safe side in case the ~130 lbs up front right now leave the lift a tad short. The rear is where I'm beginning to rethink my original plan. Was eyeing a 1.5" progressive AAL in back as I already have the TSB / 4 leaf w/6 retainer leaf pack on my 2015 OR. Hoooooweeeeeever, if I could get a full replacement set of leafs that would give approx the same lift, better ride, and leave me with a decent set of leafs to sell to an older taco owner in need - the pricing might work out close enough to make it worth it. Thoughts, suggestions?

I just got 4 new poly bushings for my Dakars from Wheelers. I can't remember what areas I should grease or not. Can anyone advise?

Get Dakars! They ride and perform better than ANY Toyota set. A great value in my opinion!

 

I have heard that there's a new version of the Dakar out there now with less squeak potential - something that drives me absolutely crazy. The other issue is getting the lift height down to the ~2" range. I'm only planning around that much in the front with the 885x spring with some extra weight from the winch, so don't want to go too ass-high as I don't often carry a lot of weight in the back. For anyone who's removed the third from the top leaf - what was your lift height?

 

My taco is a 2005 Access Cab, 4x4 TRD Sport. I am still running the stock UCAs.
I put 90000s with 886 coils up front with the trim packer, got about 2.5 inches on both sides.
60091s with the full CS047R Dakar Leaf pack in the back, got about 2.5 inches on both sides as well.
Put my ARB bumper on at the same time.
Still running stock tire size, 265/65/r17, definitely gonna have to size up in the near future though.
I am still running my sway bar.
Digging the ride quality and appearance so far, can't wait to get it on some country roads.
