    hello all,

just wanted to get some opinions on pricing.

i am in the market for a 01-04 Crew Cab tacoma must be 4x4 and trd package.

i found 1 at the used car lot today and they want $22,500 for it!

truck is a 2002 CC white very good condition everything original
    117K miles
    4x4 TRD package
    flip up sunroof
    2 inch body lift
285/75/16 with 80% thread left (all terrain)

    is this worth it?

$22,500.00 for a used vehicle with 117K miles seems a bit out there but it is a rare tacoma (with sunroof) and i am out in Hawaii so mainland pricing may be a little different. but it stills seems cheaper to purchase in the mainland and just ship it out here.

anyway like the post title says

    how much would you pay?

For that price it better be one owner, a third of the miles and be from a dry state. Is the sunroof factory or a JCShitney add on? Factory sunroofs are pretty rare

how can you tell the difference between the 2 sunroofs? looks pretty factory.

it did come from a dry state and frame has no rust and looks new, but the mileage 117K......

There's lots of variables that go into it.

Location is one. Different prices vary in different locations.

Frame integrity is a huge one. Make sure they aren't hiding anything and thoroughly check it the best you can.

The options do seem rare being a loaded double cab, but the body lift of that height has to go.

If it's limited then it has a sunroof. Chrome mirrors and handles will be a indicator of limited

Is it possible it's limited TRD? Or can it only be one or the other?

its a sr5 but i just checked and it is a factory installed flip up sunroof.

so because or the rarity or the sunroof would it be worth the $22,500.00?

thanks for all the quick responses

I'm fairly certain limited TRD is an option

It's hard to say because of 808. That truck would be 13-14k if it is 4x4 and locker in pnw.. in Texas only 8k-10k lol

    Sounds really high
Prob could find one here in Jerzy with same miles for $7000 to 13000
    with a new frame
See how much shipping would cost

No. That's a ridiculous price. If it was a low mileage DC 2nd gen that price would be close to their book value. Are they putting a huge hike on the price because it's local to Hawaii?

could be limited but does have Sr5 decals

i currently have a 2000 ex-cab with only 61K miles but the body is pretty shot and trans may be slipping (not sure why with the low miles) anyway i have about $12,500 into the truck as of right now and i figure with a new paint job and transmission i would be in that rough area of $22,000 total spent on my current truck. that being said it would be with a brand new transmission and paint job and under 70K miles.

i can probably sell my current truck as-is and recover all the money i have currently invested about $12,500.

if i purchase the 02 CC it will not have new paint or transmission but it will be a crew cab and have a sunroof.

what do you think i should do.

going to be expanding my family soon and not sure if the ex-cab is safe for a baby seat that's why i am in search of the CC.

Its a double cab? Might be worth 15k here in pnw. I know a guy that sold his for 17k but it had a few mods done.

Either way i wouldnt spend 22k on it.

    Could prbably import something cheaper

    Not even to Jay Leno.

If it had 57k miles and no body lift, maybe. Assuming it was the only one in the world and you had more $ than sense.

Call the bank or CU and ask the loan value on the vehicle. That's what it's real worth is in the financial world.

Everything you pay above that is your down payment. Which is only your 'equity' if you sell it soon to the other guy on the island that has to have it.
