Oh god. There is no logic in your comment.

Why do you think anyone needs to know a tire size in inches... that is only an American thing... you realize the US, Liberia and Burma are the only countries NOT using the metric system ;) The rest of the world does not care about inches lol

The second part of your comment is equally funny... So you believe there should only be 1" increments in tire size? hahhaa

Calculator works fine... you do realize a 255/85/16 is taller and narrower than a 265/60/16 ?

You obviously don't understand. The difference was in wheel size, yet it showed a difference in the tire I didn't change.

I don't care about inches. Tell me in centimeters if you want.

    You aren't understanding.

Do you mean 265/70/17 vs a 265/70/16 (the first 2 numbers the same then just a different rim size?)

No I had two different size tires. I changed only the wheel size on one tire, from 16 to 15, but the tire I didn't change showed getting larger.

I am lost as to what you are saying... but trust me when I tell you that is an awesome calculator and it works perfect. It is probably the most used one on the internet.

    This thread might help https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-understand-metric-tire-sizes.23715/#post-328282

If you read the first post above it will all make sense to you in about 5min.

note: I do agree with you though... stating a simple height and width is probably much easier for most people... unfortunately things change and we must reluctantly adapt.

Unless you are familiar with the particular size, it's hard to know what they are. With the inch measurements I know instantly at a glance. I'd be fine if it was just in metric, I just don't see why they needed a ratio number rather than actual measurement.

Anyway the calculator seems wrong when the sizes change when I only change the wheel size. Only the inner diameter should change.
