Hopefully get out for a meet and greet one of these days. I just heard from collision place today, looks like they will have the truck until at least March 28th. Got a f150 quad cab as a rental. Thing is huge! Can't wait to get my taco back.

New guy here, scan through TW all the time and finally decided to sign up . I've got an old 1990 pickup. I'm looking for a reputable mechanic in the Halifax area. Don't need anything done right now but would like to know of one for when the time comes. Currently putting about 1000 km's/week on the truck with about 200km of that on backroads :mudding:

I've had good luck with Wayne Rawdon at Hydrostone auto. Found him honest and reliable, but sometimes can be very busy, give yourself a few days to get in. Although one time I was having trouble with my starter in my old Tacoma, and he couldn't get me in for a few days, but said if I start having more trouble than I was at the time, bring it right in. Ended up replacing just the brass bushings or contacts or whatever, and cost me less than $100. Could have just charged me for a new starter, and I wouldn't have known the difference. Another time, the power steering hoses blew, and needed to be replaced. Toyota wanted like $400 for each hose. He just took the stock ones to hydraulic shop and had 2 built and charged me like $140 for both.

Where is the cheapest place to get suspension parts shipped here do you guys know? When I bought them a few years back they were way cheaper its insane now. My brother is buying 5100s from essex but im trying to find somewhere cheaper for the coils, spacer, and AALs.

If you find out, let me know. I would like to put a leveling kit in mine, but have no idea what kind of kit I should get.

I have the 5100s with whatever coil you want. The 5100s you can get off essexs for a decent price and it's Canadian. Lifetime warranty. My brother is getting the same. I like that price point for a lift

Yeah, I really have no idea what is needed. And the amount of options out there is overwhelming when you don't have a clue. So are you saying I would need just the shocks, or a kit?
Would this do the job? Everything you need to do it, would be in this right?

I have a guy that can install it, I guess I could just ask him. I just don't know what is a cheap way (which I don't want to cheap out, but I don't need hard core offroad rally stuff either), or getting too much for what I need, which is basically a mall craweler, lol. Although someday I would like to get doing some light off road stuff.

Right now I have the 5100s all around, the fronts set at .85, front eibach 1.6" springs, 1/4" drivers side spacer for the " lean", and then in the rear just a regular 1.5" AAL. Cheap and simple kit and it's been great. We'll until I blew the AAL in half somehow and am now replacing

I wouldnt get that kit, no need for the doff drop. Get the two front and rear sets and it's 570 plus tax free shipping, lifetime warranty. Then you need to get the AAL and front coils from somewhere, that's what I looking at doing now too. Toytec and headstrong have it all but it's expensive once you factor tax, shipping, border fees, and convert to CAD. So I'm looking for a cheaper place now. You can also instead of the eibachs I have you can get the OME coils and leave the shocks set at 0 in the front. Don't go over 2.5 " though unless you want after market upper control arms. I had them and didn't like them so I lowered my truck a bit and took them off

Was looking there but I didn't know enough about the trail gear aal. I dont want a 2" one like it said I only want 1" but I couldn't figure out where to get it from them online and they also didn't sell the 887s that I wanted
