Hmmm. I like guns in trucks but I think holsters or brackets are a better choice. On a magnet, an accident with minor force may cause it to go flying.

    This would be my choice:

I agree , I also do not like the idea of the possibility of magnetizing the the internal gun parts by repetitively applying a strong magnet to them .

I'm thinking about getting Wet Okole seat covers. They have an option for a "guntote" that goes in the front of the seat. I'd guess it's not as secure as some of the holsters you guys are using. ??? But has anyone on here have or tried these?

You're welcome. I've used car safes in the past but I am going to get one soon myself as well...I just need to get a handle on these North Carolina gun laws. They don't seem to be as nice as Georgia's, where I come from...there, your vehicle is an extension of your home, so you can have it anywhere you like.

Well I've been putting it off for three years so I thought I'd take my final road test today. Obviously, me and my Taco passed with flying colours!... Then we went to the dealership.... :p

3Inch lift, bigger rims and trail digger xt tires, 2 weeks survival gear on board. Custom steel bumpers in progress. Blacked out grill. Debagged. K&N, weather tech floor liners, Trifold bed cover.

I thought it was to big, turns out the fit is perfect. They are ideal for bed size. Once spring comes around I plan to take it out, and give it a coat of bed liner so lid holds up to cargo. And am adding neoprene rubber gasket door seal under edge of lid for weather resistance.

Id like to see pics of the mounting brackets themselves, and how they are mounted.

It would have to be a much much stronger magnet for something like that to happen. Check out some of the guys on S&W (kinda like how we listen to the advice of the users on here but for Smith & Wesson enthusiasts)
    http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-smithing/269963-can-magnets-hurt-gun.html

And this 1911 forum on the same subject.
    http://www.1911forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252788

Basically, I'm saying I have had a Glock 19 and now a Glock 43 on a magnet in my car for a couple of years and no bumps or even a rear end collision has jarred it loose. I also shoot both of them regularly.

Those things are huge. Don't get me wrong, I wear an AlienGear IWB 3.0 and it's sweet perfection but in my vehicle, just as on my ass, I don't want anyone knowing it's there.

In this position, it is all but invisible from any outside vantage point. Key thing is to do what you're comfortable with and make sure you're in compliance with your local laws. Be safe!

Final results of 10k inspection. Leak in sunroof is normal. There is drain channels for small amounts of water.(Jerry Taco was right).. Transmission fluid was low so they added the proper amount.(Had to ask them to check).. Have an appt later in the week to get the hood vibration fixed and normal oil change. Dealer was good and looked into the issues I addressed (Toyota of Fort Worth).
