@PackCon Don't know if it photographs well enough but here it is. Pulled it outside also to see if maybe it was just the lighting in the garage... doesn't seem to be. IMG_0089.jpgIMG_0093.jpg

Throw a space heater inside the bed for an hour, I've had to do it and it helps. Also I fixed your statement about giving selling it away ;)

See my post on the previous page of this thread for a suggestion on how to get those snaps done.

I had the same thing. Was going to try and raise the rear bar, pad the bar, or something. Drove me nutss. After several months I finally figured out that all that needed to happen was to use the other mounting hole at the point where it pivots. Solved.

I have a 2nd gen, so I may be overstepping my bounds here, but it looks to me like the topper is not positioned correctly. Mine does not have such a large gap between the topper and cab. I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Those bars are also location specific, maybe he has one in the wrong position? There are paint dots to orient them to the correct assembly.

Thank you for all the responses. I know I got the color dots right, I triple checked them while installing cuz it seemed like the exact type of thing I'd screw up. (They use a black dot and a purple dot, awful close in low light). So I know it isn't that. I wasn't happy with the gap between the cab and the topper either so I may wind up taking it all off and reinstalling the bed rails after scooting them up maybe an inch or so. Problem is I followed the directions and lined it up as they instructed.

I think @steelhd might be on to something. I was reluctant to try this as the passenger side looked fine already, was afraid I might make that side TOO tight adjusting the pivot point pins... anyway I'll probably give this a whirl since you said it fixed yours. Thanks again guys, I'll let ya know how it goes

That seems unusual. Have you tried "shifting" it out?

Mine is too tight to leave wrinkles in it. Dont know about others.

PS you cannot install this thing backwards. So I don't think its that

Fresh adjustments made. Problem mostly solved. I broke it all down and slid the side rails up an inch or so, the distance from truck cab window to topper window is much more acceptable now. Also adjusted the pivot pins as suggested. The wrinkle is still sliiiightly there at the driver's side rear but it's much improved. Liveable. Just throwing this out there, I feel like the canvas itself may be just slightly too large in that corner, slightly imperfect. Seems to still have some slack in that area (causing the slight wrinkle). Overall it looks better and feels much tighter in general. Many thanks to all for the help. I'm just going to have to order my Prinsu rack soon to give me something else to stare at every time I walk up to my truck.IMG_3230.jpg

yeah that ain't right. my softtopper is dead on 100% symmetric

yours is either need to be returned
    or installed or drilled incorrectly

    verify the hardware
    I'd remove top

triple measure the rails and make sure they are perfectly even with each other and parallel

measure the snaps and distance between them on both sides, make sure they are dead perfect
and mirror image of each other

measure and adjust the center pivot so they are perfect with each side

remove front window and back window, install top, check that any folds and ripples
appear on both sides, if one side has a crease the other does..or not...not one that is slightly buggered

@nat103 @127.0.0.1 if you're telling me it can be perfect then you guys are right. What sucks is I've already had to call and email because the original shipment was missing the rear bar retainers. Not exactly confidence inspiring but they were responsive and got them out quickly. Looks like it's back to the drawing board tomorrow, I need to be certain it's not just me screwing something up with the install but at this point I doubt that it is. It was a touch pricey to not be perfect. I tried photographing this but was fairly impossible: viewed directly from the back it seems like the passenger side roof of the topper is slightly higher up than the drivers side. This was the case with both installs I've done now. :notsure::annoyed:

Yep, that it. Put the pin through the other hole and you will be good to go.

Mine had a wrinkle like yours at first. Went away after a week or two. It was the same spot and same side too. But mine looks nice and tight now, so maybe just give it some time and let it sit in the sun plenty

Anyone got a link to those magnet strips? I'd go through this thread but its kinda getting long. I just reinstalled my softtopper for the warm months and i'm psyched to get out and camp!!!! I've got a 4" thick memory foam mattress with futon cover and Mattgeko's bedlights. Such a sick setup!!!!! I'll post pics tomorrow!
