Good deal on fox?

I'm looking to pick up a set of Fox 2.5 coilovers, non reservoir, extended travel and the cheapest I've found so far is $1149 on headstrong offroad. Has anyone found them for any cheaper?

 

When I was looking around for front coils, I found that headstrong offroad had the best prices on Fox front and rear, if I remember correctly, plus free shipping.

 

Im interested in them as well. They say 0-2 or 0 -3 inch. I cant find anywhere that clearly states how to make the adjustments so that you can set them to your specific needs. You have any idea on how to set the height? I'd be looking at 2 - 2 1/2

Not sure. I just ordered mine from headstrong yesterday. Still have to pick up a spammer wrench. Once the shocks come in though I'll look them over to figure it out. Should just be a matter of cranking on them with the spanner wrench to make the adjustments.

Yeah you need the correct wrench (not sure if Fox uses a spanner or something else) but it allows you to crank the coilovers to the setting you want.

I'm pretty sure with Fox you have to do it with the coilovers off of the truck, with Kings they can be on. Dont quote me on that though.

 

I ordered the fox spanner wrenches. They don't adjust like the typical ones. There's a small nut on the bottom and a larger one up top you have to loosen them both to adjust the lift. I'm pairing mine with 4" maxtrac spindles so i will probably leave the coilovers zero's out or may go up 1". We'll see. As for adjusting I hope I can do it without removing the coilover. That's gonna be a pain in the ass if I have to remove them every time.

 

Yeah I'm not 100% but my friend that has them took them off to adjust them both times he did it, doesn't mean it's the only way though.

 

Oh ok. I'll read up a little more on them. I'm sure there's a way to do it without removing them. Guess I'll find out at some point, lol

 

I adjusted mine with them on the truck. Just takes a lot of elbow grease.

I have the Fox 2.5" with resi and yes you can adjust them while it's on the truck. The fox manual even says that's the proper way of doing. Just put the truck on jack stands and let the suspension droop fully. Don't just buy the fox spanner wrenches.... it's trash and you can only get it in at certain angles. I just used a punch and filed the head down to the size of the hole of the collar. Spray some lube on the collar top and bottom. Then adjust it. simple. done!

 

In that case I may cancel my order on the wrenches. What size punch did you start with before you shaved it?

Yep! I spoke with them yesterday and ordered a set through them.

 

The spanner wrench will work IF you don't have resi but if you do I'd use the punch idea. Another idea is use a # 3 screwdriver and file it down to the size. Works great too!

 

Well I don't do too much hardcore wheeling. I just want a basic mid travel and went with the non resi coils

 

Then you'll be find with the spanner wrench then if you decide to keep them. I wasn't happy with the Fox spanner wrenches. At least the Icon spanner wrenches has a pin on both ends to make it easier but the Icon pin size for the collar is bigger then the Foxes hence you gotta file the Icon spanner wrench down also to make it fit.
