I got the chrome on my silver SR-5. Needed to get some variety. Otherwise i'd have a chrome monoculture at my house.

might be tough to put into words but can you quantify that?
stiffer, softer, more compliant, more stable...?

    edit: for clarity

Took the taco to anza borrego this weekend. I went on a trail called coyote canyon and I got scared going into muddy patch cause I was alone so I turned back lol. Also found out i should do the rear diff breather mod.

    Hello all,

I picked up the below taco for my 43rd birthday present! It's a '17 DCLB with P&T with a few goodies like tonneau cover, all weather mats and mud flaps (which I really don't like). Nonetheless, I love the look of this one and can't wait to put a 3" leveling lift kit with some rim/tire upgrades. My kids love the dual cab, saying it has way more space than my previous access cab.

Sure...well, I can try at least. I have to admit it is a tricky thing to articulate because it's somewhat subjective and using words like stiff or softer could be misinterpreted. Also, I'm certainly not knowledgeable about compression/dampening/ rebound/valving/ etc to use them 100% accurately, but I'll try my best to provide an honest review of how they perform and what I like about them.

I would say that the ride quality is higher/ significantly improved over stock ...as in the ride/feel/performance feels like it has been elevated in terms of the quality. This might be a terrible comparison, but the best I can come up with .... I can remember being a kid and turning the knob on my folk's stereo ... I can't remember what brand it was, but it was nice. I remember the knob was sort of hard to turn...just that tactile interaction with the stereo gave you the feeling that that damn thing was "high quality."

Now obviously, this isn't meant to be an apples to apples comparison, but the ride quality of the truck now seems much improved. It has a very "high quality" feeling to it. I thought the stock ride was pretty good, but the way the 6112's absorb impact and cycle through compression/ rebound just feels top notch ... very impressive feel while driving and passengers comment on how "nice" or "smooth" the truck is quite a bit since I installed them a few weeks ago.

Hope that helps. I can say IMHO the 6112's are worth the $$$ and I am very happy with them.

Do you have any pictures of the tailgate lettering? I'm thinking of getting the matte black inserts for mine.

exacttttttttttly... i've been trying to translate what exactly stiff and softer means as it is different for everyone. i like your honest review. most likely ordering 6112's this week. did you do anything else to your rear? did it lift and what are your settings if you don't mind me asking?
