I hear ya, I've just about rebuilt my front end a piece at a time. OME Suspension coming this week with new lbj's and tires. Should ride a lot better. By the way they say the LBJ bolts are one use bolts. I've reused mine but def hit em with locktite

Finally got around to working on my new-to-me bumpers, buh bye chrome!

I scuffed up the chrome with a sanding disc on my grinder, it went really fast.

I had already cut out the holes for the back up lights.

I did, it's a pretty simple affair. 4x2 tube, 3/16 wall. The swingout is all 2x2x3/16 if I recall correctly, the jerry can rack is made out of 1.5x1/8 flat bar.

IMO, there is no way for a single battery to make up for not having a dual battery setup, no matter how big it is.

One of the two main reasons for a dual setup is to be able to recover from a failure of the starting battery. Can't do that if you don't have two. I also chose going the dual route to have a power source when the truck is off. One that I don't care if I drain it down by running accessories like camp lights, Commms, refridgerator and tunes.

Man, I need some camp lights, and also I'm missing extra capacity for camp tunes. I wanna go camping now, can it be warm and sunny now?

I don't know if it's just me, but I like the Chrome on the Tacoma. It's not overdone, and gives you some contrast that otherwise won't be there.

Is there anywhere you can buy Toyota wiring harness plugs? I'm looking for make power door retrofit kits for some friends and it'll be a lot cheaper if I could just get my own connectors and pins and make the harness themselves instead of taking them out of 4Runners or Tacomas.

I like it on the grille and door badges other than that I feel like it is trying really hard to be what it isn't. The bumpers may be chrome but they are tinfoil, unlike the chrome bumpers of old. I don't know, but my thought is that they were going for the good ol days nostalgia factor of chrome bumpers on a pickup truck.

Just a hint of chrome looks nice though, haha. I give my Dad shit for all the chrome he's got on the Harleys and the Escalade though, he did take my joking into consideration on his latest build though so we shall see what a subtle black and candy red engined and trimmed Harley with a 30" black and red spoked front wheel looks like soon enough.
