    Morning all:
    7 1/2" of snow here already, looks like a lot more to come. :( Can't complain too much though, been an easy winter up to now.

    Hey Carl, Looks like we missed most of the big stuff. Only got about 2 to 3 inches as of this morning. You be safe:thumbsup: and stay in if you can.

    Morning all:wave: Hi Kevin, Thanks. How's the pup doing? Getting used to all the attention yet?

    We are only at 5.5" of snow right now - but in the zone for 18+. Waiting for some sunlight and then I'll head out and plow for the first time.

    The noise of the storm woke me up. It's icy and windy out there. A real nor'easter.

    Been up Dave, but it started to sleet mixed with rain that made a hellva lot of noise. Thankfully I don't have to go out in this stuff. One of the perks of retirement:D. Stay safe.

    14" and falling at a rate of 2+ per hour. We are officially snow bound - ATV can't push this wet snow down/up the driveway hill. With a 650 ft driveway and all this snow it's met its match. I put a call in to the reserves but it's going to take a few days for anyone to get here. In the meantime, my priority is to clear off the spa. We've got food, beer, wine, whiskey, milk and toilet paper. And firewood, too.

    We are getting gusts of wind with sleet and snow mixed. Only about 3" to 4" of stuff on the ground so we are luckier than you Mark, but still a pain. Enjoy the spa and be safe.

    At least you have the most important thing, the toilet paper! :laughing:
    Looks like I'm just hitting the snowbound category also, right at 12" and snowing hard, haven't heard a plow go through on the main road yet. When they do decide to plow the end of my driveway will be really bad.
    Hmmm, started sleeting like crazy out there now and making it a lot harder to shovel.

    I just chatted w/coworkers in NJ. 3 inches of snow fell, now it is mostly sleet and rain. Not quite a non-event but people are in the office etc. so not that bad either.

    Me on the other hand... at least a foot, double that on the porch where the nor'easter winds seem to like to dump extra. I moved the snowblower yesterday to a place under cover next to the house; the last time we had one of these storms I ended up trudging through crotch-deep snow just to get to the shed and was half worn out before I even started clearing snow! I think this one won't be that bad though.

    Oh and the place I put the blower can be seen from the road, so I went to the hardware store for a length of chain so I could secure it. Came back with 4 items, none of which was a chain! :rolleyes:o_O:annoyed: So I used a bike cable. It's still out there so I can claim success.

    We are over 24" and climbing. Just told my Public Safety folks at the college to shut us down for tomorrow. The maintenance guys can't move the snow quickly enough - will have to haul it out to make room for cars. Focus is for safety. Now we just need to get the food service folks in and get food to the dorms. Nothing up here is open or moving except snowmobiles and plows. Brutal.

    We are white out now.
    Wind howling.
    Going to be a long night. On a 2 hour driveway schedule.
    Won't be able to move it if I don't..

    Looks like we peaked at 14".
    24"+ Mark :eek:, looks like you will need bigger equipment.
    Stay safe everyone.

    Only the digging out part, other than that snow is fun. Kids also love to play in the snow. you don't know what you're missing! :rolleyes:

    Oh I lived in it for 45 years, in all of Northern New England and Massachusetts at one point or another.

    Been here for 26 years now and miss:
    • clean crisp air (Florida has a permanent musty smell, though you do get used to it and we live by the beach so it's minimised);
    • real seasons, we only have 2-1/2 (1/4 nice, then 1/2 hot, then 1 friggin' HOT followed by another 1/2 of just plain hot, and another 1/4 of nice--we are having the first nice now);
    • that first snowfall of the year;
    I do not miss scraping and shoveling, or having my cars rot out from under me--no sir, nor one bit. If friggin' HOT is the price I must pay then so be it...

    Never been able to get reloads to work in mine, throwing the fun switch to single does ok. Can't send it out from commiefornia for repair as once it is transferred, I can't get it transferred back.... My 1911's and the 2011 run them just fine so I know it's not my the loader or my technic.
    Going outside to enjoy the sunshine and head to the desert later to see the bloom.
