There's a guy on here who did that with his rear bumper. The license plate had a hidden storage compartment behind it using all the space where the tire used to be.

 

so, how did you go about the P/S flush, I'm definetly due for that service, pretty sure the fluid is nice coal black color

This is such a great idea. I have a plan to try this, I'd like to mount my fridge slide directly to small sections of track mounted like what you've done using one of their threaded stud attachments (that is if I can get the slide to line up with the track just so...) Do you have any pointers on how to line up the cuts in the bed mat with the tracks?

 

Any write up on what you did to seal up your shell? My old leer is leaking i think in similar areas :/

First - this is an amazing thread. I've been back a bunch and have many posts flagged for when i get around to more suspension changes, compressor install, etc etc! Thank you for all your hard work! I do have a quick question. I am also trying to shoe-horn a 255/85-16 in the stock location. I've hacked off the tailpipe mount, and have whacked the tabs back up and am about to move the elevator, but when i test fit the tire up there, it looks like it is still going to get hit by the filler plug on the diff. How much clearance did you end up with? And, is that the stock hitch attachment? Did this get better/worse with your new rear bumper?

I have a ratchet strap around the trailer hitch and pulled the tire back as far as it can go before using the elevator to pull it up. I've never noticed any rubbing under compression with the plus side being I now have a ratchet strap with me at all times in case I ever need it.

Those Whiteline bushings, do they come with new outer sleeves? I'm in need of doing the LCA bushings, cams, and bolts and I want to make sure I have everything needed.

Ok thank you. So I'll have to torch, cut, or press out the old and pop these in. Perfect.

 

I'd say try the press out method first using your bottle jack. Heating the outer sleeve slowly and evenly should expand it enough for them to literally and audibly pop right out. If that fails, go ape!

 

Sounds good. I'll give that a shot! I have one seized and have to replace both front cam tabs that are flattened. So I'm going to do all 4 bushings and all 8 tabs while I'm there.

Whiteline W53312 kit, does that have enough to do both sides, left and right? Or just one arm?

 

Crom.. what did you torque your leaf springs down to? 89ftlbs as spec'd? The reason is I'm getting some nice barn door creaking from these as the poly rubs on the mounting bracket. Wondering if lowering the torque will free up some tension.
