Yea I'm getting sleet, looks like this storm is a dud compared to what they said it was gonna be. News just said most of the accumulating snow we're gonna get is aleady on the ground

Gotta get a tank delivered, order all the gear sitting in my Amazon cart, make/buy an extension cord, and finally wire in a 50 amp breaker and outlet. THEN I'll be ready to set up shop

I've got a lot of work ahead of me, but having this in the garage is motivation enough

How are the roads? This is the first storm I haven't taken the truck out but I'm sure I will at some point soon

 

There not terrible although I only went about a half mile or so up to my work to pull my boss out in the plow truck cause he had it stuck pretty good... yup that's right my Taco had to go rescue a 3/4 ton Chevy hahaha

While the wife was dealing with the kids and putting them down for their nap, I put my retros on! Yeah boy!!!!

Started at noon, finished at about 4. Not gonna lie, it's a bitch. Broke a fucking tab on my stock driver's side headlight cause I was rushing a bit. Aside from that just a scuff or so on both where you can't really see. The retros are on and fine though.

Didn't really clean up the wiring part cause I had to go outside and try to clean my driveway a bit cause of all the fucking snow. So, when I have more time, and in daylight, I have to get that cleaned up and organized a bit better. Everything seems to be working though. Halo blinking when the blinker is on, halo on with DRL on

Pics possibly tomorrow, depending on weather, so I can show off the new look. Fucking psyched!

 

OK, so couldn't resist and went out to take a few pics while it was still daylight a bit, before cleaning the driveway, again.

I have to clean up the wiring stuff a bit as you can see form the pics. Meaning, attach the motocontrol to something so it's not just laying around, and the same for the LED resistors.

To get the halos to turn on and blink with the DRL/blinker lights, you have to tap into the wires that go to the DRL/blinker. One is for the blinker, one is for the DRL, and the other is the ground. They all get tapped into basically. In one of the pics you'll see an extra of those t-tap thingys because I messed up the one it came with, but luckily I had extras for the Hilux 4x4 switch mod so used one of those, and left the one I had already on there. Might take it off and cover up the cut pc of plastic with electrical tape once I clean it all up.

I think the pics are pretty much self explanatory, but if you have questions just ask and I'll try to answer as best as I can.

Super happy with it. Will be even happier when I clean up the mess. Then it'll be "finished".

 

Dayumm @Cativelense those look wicked awesome.. congrats I may have to look into building a set for myself I actually really like yours so if you know the parts list I may copy some of yours
