It's not about being that guy. You signed a lease right? Somewhere in there is something about your reserved spaces. If it says you have access to a certain number of spaces they need to honor that. The lease is a contract and the landlord can't just change things at will.

I call on my neighbors. :anonymous:

Common spaces are open to anyone but no car can keep the space more than 3 days.

After a week, I call. I have 12 people vying for 3 spots. Fuck them.

close to paying off my debt from when i was an even dumber teen and then using my inheritance my grandparents left me to buy a house finally. I've been resisting because i want to be able to have my money free'd up for the mortgage and any/all surprises.

Stop paying rent and see how the manager responds to that. If they can change the rules so can you, but also your rent is based on the entire contract.

File a petition with the HOA and go to the meetings. Start distributing flyers to all who live in the complex regarding parking issues. Insinuate the HOA dues aren't being properly allocated to handle the parking issue. There are many ways to skin this cat...

This is one of the many reasons(including breed specific language banning different types of dogs) why it took me over a year to find a house to buy that didn't have any HOA attached to it here on the peninsula. Or, at least, one that I could afford here on the peninsula.

Reminds me of my old place. I was in a duplex on a small street, but surrounded by an apartment complex and two mobile home parks. We had one driveway spot, otherwise we had to fend for a street spot. If my wife didn't take a street spot when she got home around 4, I was screwed and would have to park 2-3 blocks away sometimes. Pissed me off trying to find parking after a long day of work.

My neighbor made it worse by petitioning the city to add 4ft red zones on the ends of each curb in front of his house and ours. Really fucked us over as it reduced 4 parking spots and he was adamant about calling the police to ticket anyone over the red at all. Part that pissed me off most is he had enough parking for 8 cars at his place and wasn't effected at all by it. Made sure when I bought my place it had plenty of parking, it really is a thing of beauty to pull right into your driveway every night. You'll get there, just have to deal with the shit in the meantime. Good luck!
