Call me old school, but just like changing the “break-in” oil at 500 miles, I always
drive about 100 miles on new tires/wheels before wheel alignments or balancing to
give things a chance to “settle in”.

So are you a AF Contractor, Retiree, or have they gone to totally Local ( German) License Plates for US Forces over there?

Totally local plates. Been that way since I got here in 13'. Did they get to keep stateside plates at some point? We never have em on, even have German temp plates until you can get the normal ones

Back in the day we registered on base and got a special US Armed Forces plate. Makes sense that Germany would follow England and require registration.

USAREUR used to Issue US FORCES Germany Plates ( for all Services) that were shaped like normal US License Plates but they were Black Lettering on a Green Plate. Then they switched to Black on White. Then EU-Style Plates but with USA where the D is in the Blue field. Guess now it's the Local Country EU-Style Plate.

Here's a complete History of US Forces Plates prior to the Stright Local EU Plates.

LOL, I hear you! Although there are more and more Pickups being bought even in Germany. I lived through the Bader-Meinhof Terrorist bombings with the US Forces Green Plates and in Uniform days. But at least that was in my Porsche, so a local German car, but with those big ugly Green Plates!

Got the cab bed rail installed. Nice to have a few more anchor point locations. Will eventually be the mounting place for a set Maxtrax.

    20170314_132447.jpg

I have no idea why the 3rd gens don't come with this bedrail from the get go, but the 2nd part fits like a glove (factory and aftermarket Tonneau compliant).

F.Y.I. if you don't have a T30 bit for a drill, get one, and don't think a T25 will work... These bolts are super tight and easy to strip. Had to use my impact drill to get them off.

Nope nothing fancy these days.. You can still pick out the americans because some of us have the short license plates. For instance on the back of the truck, a long wont fit, so I am authorized one short.

Looks like I'll need to add a tow package to my '17. When I ordered it at the dealership (they didn't have it in stock) I asked them specifically does it have the tow package? He replied yes all TRD- Sports have that. I then took possession of the vehicle the next day and figured it must have the beefed up cooling components etc. but that I'd just need to get the actual hitch added at like UHAUL.

Turns out it doesn't have any tow package. When I called the dealer out on his false promise he said oh sorry I thought they were standard. It'll be $3000 for a Toyota tow package or $1050 for an aftermarket and neither include any beefed up cooling systems or alternator because those aren't part of the factory tow package anyway (liar).

I'm pissed off and I'm trying to decide how I might pursue legal action based on the fact I bought the vehicle before taking possession of it based on the promise it had a tow package. I had a witness there with me through all this.

    Any advice?

Take it back. You want that thing done at the factory.

The towing package is $650 retail when ordered with the truck . I would pay no more than that for their mistake. Or get a different truck .
Not in stock is BS. they stuck you.

Yeah, I'd take it back, ask to speak to sales manager, store manger and if need be threaten to call store owner. Also can open a case with toyota corporate. I would be like, this isn't the truck I asked for or was promised.
