The navigation system is ok, but it does have its flaws. I generally only use it if I am somewhat familiar with the area I am going to. Otherwise I use my phone.

My biggest issues with the nav system have been:

    1. It has refused to update the route when I have gone off course to a known better route. I got 15 miles away (and thus much closer to my destination) and it still wanted me to turn back and go all the way back to my original route.

    2. Multiple times it has displayed one highway to take while simultaneously voicing to take the other one at a junction. So say you are coming to the 10 and the 5 (made up scenario), all visuals will say to take the 5, yet the voice will continuously say to take the 10.

    3. Multiple times I've had my heading get completely stuck. So the map will keep updating but my position cursor will end up pointed in some direction and keep going that direction no matter what. I only notice when I look over eventually and see the navigation telling me I'm in the ocean.

Same here. It was way more accurate than paper maps that were recently updated. I used it on an elk hunt around bill Williams and was able to get around and plot my course.

Since I was on trails it didn't show off Bumblebee, here in the Verde, and up around Sedona, Im calling BS on you and your friend. No way in hell are you using this thing to help you hunt elk unless you were trying to do it from your car from the pavement.

Wrong. Almost every single forest road maintained AND unmaintained are shown on the Mogollon Rim. In fact I haven't run across one that hasn't been. I have traveled hundreds of miles of back roads up there for turkey and elk. I'm calling operator error on your part. Learn how to use a map system.

If you aren't seeing the forest roads it's because you are not zoomed in close enough. They will not show up beyond a certain level of zoom for instance .25 miles or more may not show them. Operator error.

Stared using LeadNAV with overlay maps with trails via iPad or iPhone. For engine radios there is a cable you can get via eBay that allows you to mirror your screen on your dash. My 2913 does not have it but for newer trucks

I've used the maps system to go up sedona backroads such as Schnebly hill Rd to Merry Go Round Rock as well as Rd 801 and 153A

Waze great for commuting. Can't be beat for that. The truck map system exceeds expectations for Forest Roads details

This. You have to be zoomed in for the roads to show up. Saved me a lot of time not going down roads that dead end or go in a loop.

The roads listed above are Forest roads, unpaved and are all shown on the vehicle map as well as all of the roads on the Mogollon Rim. Do family trees fork in Camp Verde?

Do you ever get off a road you can drive on in a family sedan?
