This needs an "unlike" option. I don't want to like it!

Not sure I'll make the meet & drink - if so it'll be a little on the late side, got a wedding in the morning on the other end of DFW.

Also, anyone got a hookup on an installer for an alarm & remote start?

I know. The thing we were wanting to go to tacked on a $20.00 service fee for the tickets so we said screw that. Going to take the new mtn bike out hopefully Saturday at Tyler State Park and take the dog hiking.

I have a guy that can do it. Let me know what type of alarm and start and I can get a price. Not sure if the price will be good or not.

was looking at the Viper 5706V, but open to others, just starting to do some research. There's a limit to how much wiring I'm willing to do on my own first time on my own truck. :help:

Man from watching a couple videos on YouTube it seems like most of the wiring is done in the cab just by taping into wires. It seems like they have simplified the process a lot over the years.

Interesting, guess I need to watch some videos on the newer installs, the older (circa 2012) threads I'd found make it seem like there were still a *lot* of wires to tap into. I'm more than happy to lay my own aux wiring, it's tapping into the existing harnesses in a dozen or more places that I'm still willing to shell out a few clams to someone who's gone through the process a few times.

I'll shoot him a message and get a price. He has been doing car audio/alarms/remote starts for something like 15-20yrs. If I had to guess it may not be "cheap" but possibly less than a shop would charge. He'll even come to you and do it at your place.

It probably has become a lot simpler. My guess would be maybe 20 to 30 wires to splice at the most but I really i'm just guessing. My remote start for a push to start(No Key needed, much cimpler from what I was told than cars that use a key in the ignition) was only like 9-12 wires spliced.

My solution is black nail polish, from 15 feet you can't tell how awful it looks.

Ouch, that's a good one. Was that the front driver's side wheel?

Time to buy another set of wheels for Mall Crawling and leave the current set for offroading. You should probably get some 20" fuels or something more bro-worthy for the mall, you cant actually take your truck offroad if you want to fit in. You'll also need to make sure its spotless with a really good wash and wax.
