What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Does anybody know the part number of the compatible metal oil canister that can replace the plastic one. I have tried searching for it over and over but apparently I am not worth a crap using the search engine. I even remember seeing it listed below in Products Discussed in this Thread. Thanks

Dealership, Titus Will Toyota. I ordered a bunch of other things like the header rail for the front of the bed. Discount code TACOMAWORLD takes the price down to $24.01 before shipping.

 

If you have a decent dealership you can get for around $30 bucks and they might install it when doing the oil change mine did.....

Made this while at the Office bored today, trucks got 5600 miles on it now and only has this one document.

I'll put my dealer visits up to 45k or 50k, idr how far that South East Toyota toyo guard lasts anymore, in this document. Then when that runs out I'll keep a piece of paper with mileage and date of every mod and maintenance I do from then on out and keep it in the truck.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately allot of dealers and sales reps don't know squat about the product they are selling.
I'd say if you plan on using the truck for towing you need a Tacoma with the oem tow package. Adding a hitch is only the first step in prepping your vehicle for towing. The oil coolers are very important and I'd be hesitant to pull anything with out a transmission cooler. It will be pretty expensive to have these installed after the fact because you'll need to buy the plumbing as well as the coolers. Another bit of unfortunate news is the fact that the lower 3500lb tow rating is attached to your VIN regardless of how you prep a non tow package Tacoma.
Bottom line the dealer needs to take it back and make this right. Unfortunately this is probably going to be difficult for you. Good luck!

Make sure it's lined up correctly when putting new one on.

 

Exactly! I suggest you look at the back of the OEM Knob as you take it off to see how it is oriented so you can align the new knob the same way.

 

For those of you wondering why the Hondo knobs aren't bigger around. I believe it is so the blue arched light above the knobs show up. I think they are a great upgrade over stock!
