so I decided to finally get this mod done. I didn't take pics of the removal of the bumper, but I will tell you that there is two bolts aside that hold the bumper in place. I didn't take the whole thing apart, I just took off the plastic and went to town. It was a relatively easy project, even for me, and I am not that mechanically inclined. The hardest part is putting it back on, because you don't want to scuff it up, I mean, you just took all this time to paint it. Anyways, pics to follow. For this, you will need
1)ratchet wrenches, size 17 mm I believe:eek: that will take off the bolts
    2) PB blaster or WD-40 or whatever lubricant you desire
    3) flat head screwdriver to take off plastic
    4) primer, choice of paint, in this case I used rustoleum truck bedliner in the rattle can.
    5) newspaper,carboard, old sheets.
    6) a garage
    7) a little bit of time
ok, take off the bumper, take off the plastic, set the plastic aside. After that, clean the bumper really well from dirt or debris with some soap. Make sure it is very clean, because prep is half the battle. I noticed that I had some rust spots on there, so I took my scuffing tool on my drill and went over those to get rid of the rust. I then rewashed the bumper, dried it, scuffed the bumper with my scuffing tool, then wiped it down with acetone. On to primer.........primed it with a good couple of coats of primer, made sure I got it in every little spot. I think took a scotch brite pad (thanks will) to it and scuffed it up. After the scuffing with the scotch brite pad, I went to paint. I tried to go easy, and only noticed that I put it on thick on the passenger side corner, but you can't really notice that. I put about 2 coats on, but had to touch it up here and there. Much to my wife's surprise, when I asked if she liked it she replied "when are you going to paint the rest like that?":D pics to follow...........

and it's easy, taking the bumper off is the easy part, it's putting it back on that's a little difficult. Four hands will help vs. two.

thanks Will, and thanks for being around to answer my questions. Just a little FYI, taking the bumper off is way easy, and for me, I needed to take off the bumper, I would have ended up making a big mess with the bumper on and would have been up the shit creek with a whole lot of paint in a whole lot of places I didn't want it. :D
