Dumb dakar question

I just got a pair of Dakar leaf springs to replace my toytec boss pack. i know its dumb question, but are leaf springs right or left side specific and if so how can you tell.

 

If i recall there is a (+) and (-) marking on the springs, (+) driver side if i recall. if they are the same it wont matter much.

I also see you're in summit county, if ya want a hand ill be up that way in the next few days.

 

IIRC, they are not side specific for second gens. I know the + or - refers to whether the leaf pack is over or under OME spec.

thinking this should be straight forward just like the boss pack.

 

The leaf packs will come with a 0 , + , or - on them , sometimes you get a pair that are marked the same ( ie 0,0 , +,+ or -,- ) and sometimes they are mixed

If you get a mixed set , just put the higher spec one on the drivers side

Sounds good to me, I've been wheeling all over summit and park county. I stay in Alma (placer valley) a few times a month at a friends cabin so im up that way quite a bit

I really like going up to Crystal Lakes or the Tiger road area ending up in Zuma

 

Mine were both 0 and my driver rear was 1 1/4" lower than the passenger If ordering from a vendor I'd ask for +, 0.

 

You can get flat axle shims

 

Yeah I added a 1/2" to the drivers side and it is almost unnoticeable. If you look for it, you can see it. I have about 3k on them now, I should measure again.

 

My Dakars are -,- and the rears are the same heights

 

The only dumb Dakar question is "should I get Dakars".
