Smitty99 you're obviously biased because of all the issues you've had. Would you honestly pay for a battery, knowing it was failing, instead of having the warranty take care of it?

I agree.. you don't have a problem. If you buy a new battery I will take your old perfectly good one :D

Given the experience I have had with the dealership: I would try to isolate and characterize the issue or at least get to the point where I can replicate or provide video evidence before wasting my time at the dealer.

maybe you don't take your truck into the wilderness a lot but for me I do.
I'd rather not be driving around with a faulty battery that may shit the bed when I'm camping away from any roads and help.

I agree with you but a simple jump box, as he said he has, will not keep him stranded should said issue arise. Dead battery is obviously an easy fix.

Have you tried checking the water levels of the battery?

To your point people do freak out about stupid stuff. I'm not sure this concern is unwarranted though as a battery that dies is just barely above a flat tire on your way to work on the shitty scale.

Batteries do need some maintenance. Most people do zero battery maintenance and only do something when there is a problem.

Many places that sell and install batteries will test it for free. A couple of load test should tell you. Just use a reputable place. If it tests bad then contact the dealer.

This. I don't often short cycle, but seriously a battery should not fail like that especially when its so new.
I don't often short cycle but regardless, its not something that can easily be replicated and if it is a defected battery that isn't holding a charge I'd rather have it addressed.

    see above.
This is the second time its happened to me in the two months I've had it.
First time didn't think anything of it, but now that it happened again about 2 weeks after the first time, its a bit of a concern now.
I'd rather not have it leave me stranded somewhere, and given its winter, even more so wouldn't want it to.

Besides, I was asking what else it could be.

How can it be the battery as it cuts off in the video, he goes to crank it and its turning over fast like no tomorrow ?
I've seen main relays on other vehicles crap out and cause issues like this.
    Even the key switch maybe.

Unfortunately, even something new can be defective.

I agree with Sensiman that there is no reason a simple battery issue should take 50 posts but...

you don't know how long that battery sat around the manufacturer warehouse or on the dealer lot and at what charge level. When a battery sits in a low state of charge it can damage/sulfate the battery and it will never be very good. The battery being fairly new doesn't mean squat if it was not maintained properly. Most batteries are sealed units now but CHARGING is considered battery maintenance.
Get a jump pack or schedule a dealer visit but this really shouldn't be a big issue.

He said the issue hasn't happened lately so I donno why he keeps posting videos. I've given the best advice I can based on the 50+ posts. I'm out.

I agree from this video but he did say it has turned over slow I believe. A quick battery test at least would rule it out.

    I
Completely agree the video shows it turning fast. He mentioned that in the past it turned over slow.

I couldn't get a video of the original time but it was 100% the sound of a dead battery
Tried to crank for about 2-3 seconds and wouldn't turn over.

This video only has a slight hesitation

hence the problem. It only happens sometimes and I haven't been able to get it on video.
there is a slight hesitation in that video though
