Started to install the TC bed supports.. passenger side is 90% done.. went to bolt the 3) 5/16" bolts in.. TC did not put nuts in the package, soo ill be going to the store in the morning to finish it up. the drivers side is going to be a pain in the butt since i have to un mount the storage platform, install the bracket then notch the platform to fit back in place.
    The bed is definitely tweaked.

I also had some Eyourlife flush mount pod led's come in the other day to put into my rear bumper. got a little curious and touched the wires to my 18v milwaukee battery from my drill. these suckers are BRIGHT. the flood pattern is more of a spot beam but for $18 for the pair, i dont really care that much,

Just out of curiosity, what do yall think my truck might be worth if i were to sell it (I am in colorado so tacomas and toyotas in general hold a higher value from what ive seen)

I do still need to fix the projector shrouds in the headlights but may also just swap in stock housings and sell the projectors separately.

reason to sell would be to pay for the rest of my schooling as my GI Bill is about to run out and i don't want to take on any student loans or any loans in general.

Would there be any major difference with or without the camper shell on the truck? or would it be fine to sell it seperately as they seem to go for about 750-1000 out here.

I'm sure you could get enough to pay for school, but I would think about it long and hard before you pull the trigger. I was in a similar situation in college; I had a '73 Bronco rebuilt from the ground up, GI bill was running out and I needed to pay for school. It was the only thing I owned worth anything, so I sold it and finished school. And even though I love my Tacoma, I still pine after that bronco. I don't even have any pics so it only exists in my head, lol. I've been reading your posts, and it looks like you've put soo much into it already, and there's so much more you can do in the future.

Just my two cents...BTW, hopefully your VA situation has turned out, but if not, PM me. I can point you to some local resources that are Veteran run that live to help our brother and sisters get the help they need. Cheers.

Yeah, some long hard thought has gone into it and with talks with my parents, they said they are willing to help me out on the school side so that i do not have to sell the truck so that i have a reliable mode of transportation. But they know ill be selling the truck once graduated to move onto something else and are ok with being paid back then. Just ready for this chapter to be done with and start the next part ha.

My life changes drastically within short periods of time often, which i love!
That said, the truck will be going up for sale soon. I recently began the process for starting a photography business for myself so that i have a job and means of income while going to school for the next year and a half. I have had a number of friends and their friends ask to buy prints of my photos but never had an easy way for them to do it. I'd rather invest in myself to pursue something i enjoy and be able to pay for a bit of school as well. Any left over funds are to be split between other investments and an older toyota, likely a 3rd gen 4runner so i can still get out and camp and keep my photography and video gear secured.

So if anyone is looking for a good starting platform with a 2nd gen tacoma 4x4, i will have the truck up for sale soon.

Camper shell and sleep platform/storage were sold 2 weeks ago.

Sounds like an exciting new pursuit. Good luck in finding a 4runner that fits your needs. Are you still in Leadville?

If you part it out and return it to stock you would get more ROI. Most mods only hold half their value .. if that.

Also I thought about buying a 3rd gen 4R, dirt cheap, reliable and nice off-road prowess with minor mods. I say go for it ..

Yeah i had thought about that, but i am not allowed to do any vehicle related work at my apartment complex, and they already let me get away with the little bit that i do, do. I also do not have any of the stock parts left so that also takes that off the table. But it will be listed online in the next week or so once i get the title back in my possession since i left it at my parents house in texas while i was living out of the truck. The only thing that is coming off the truck are the BD Squadro Pro fog lights, those do wonders in the mountain trails at night.
