Try Craig Davidson at James Baroud (craigd@jamesbaroudusa.com). He's always been responsive to my questions and was very helpful when we lost the brackets to attach our Horizon Vision to the rack--two days after I contacted him I had more replacements than I needed no charge.

We got the James Baroud Horizon Vision and love it. What got us to this tent over others like the CVT and Tepui were a few things: maybe the best views out of a rtt--it has no rainfly and so with all the windows and doors open you have pretty much a 360 degree view; packed it is smaller and lighter than most other tents; the aluminized material reflects sun which is a plus for camping in the West; there is a cold weather insert that makes winter camping much more enjoyable.

My Vote is CVT Bobby won me over when i was on the fence with how responsive he was to any questions. He isnt a pushy salesman just treats people the way he wants to be treated and people come pouring out of the woodwork to buy a tent from him personally. However if you are still in the market I do have a promo Code for you to use! It gets you 10% off tents and awnings.

I know it's CVT or Tepui, but have you looked at the Yakima RTT? I'm trying to find time to head overand check it out at REI, but the mounting method looks appealing for ease of storage. Also has most of the common features that the rest have.

https://www.rei.com/product/114800/yakima-skyrise-2-rooftop-tent - There's a pretty good video on this site

Is there an issue with the top openings in the "stargazer" or similar style models leaking? That may be a stupid question and I know that's what the rainfly is for, but I guess I'm asking if there is any added protection compared to a standard tent with ventilation in the top. If this isn't an issue then why wouldn't you get the stargazer for the added ventilation at least?

Also, with the 150% humidity that comes with camping in the Ozarks, what is the condensation like on the walls of the tent. I always hate waking up to water on the inside walls of the tent. Is this something that is taken care of by the quality of these things or something that will still be present?

Well I told you about my idea for a new bad ass tent and possible group by, but that didn't suit your fancy... Back to the think tank and drawing board.

Ive been asking this same question. Was thinking about going with the Tepui Kukenam Sky 3 but I want to hear more about this group buy.

There's no more risk of leaks than with any of the other tents. The Rainfly is one piece so no seams to potentially leak.
Of course if you leave the Sky windows open with no rain fly in place you're gonna get wet if it rains but you can have the windows open with the rain fly in place and everything is great with good ventilation.

Condensation is still possible with roof tents. It all depends on the conditions.

The stargazer is built into the rain fly. Been using mine for a year camping on the coast in central Alabama North Carolina. All over and I've only woken up once with the moisture in the walls like you mention. That was camping on the lake in July. If it's 100% humidity and hot your going to have it. But with opening the roof vents and sides. It was dry in about a half hour once the sun came up. In the winter I never have an issue. Because when it is really cold I put a buddy heater down in the annex. On low it will get mid 60's inside with it being in the teens outside.

    Depends.
I can upgrade the vibrator bed mat to the deluxe 3000 extreme with five extra settings, throw in a pack of Himalayan Salt and rare earth magnets, along with a embroidered flannel snuggy...
Plan on having a drawing for a free squatty potty and other knick knacks too..

I can't let too much out now or else people will steal my ideas.
But, they'll no longer be question in what RTT do I buy... People will just know.

We live near santa cruz and visited the Tepui show room and was instantly in love. We got two Tepui's that night. We also visit the CVT show room in Bend, OR and I think the CVT tents are made a little better. There seems to be more substance to the floor of the unit and the tent poles are slightly better. Bobby and all of his employees were awesome during our visit!

I'd like a CVT but there are no dealers that I'm aware of in Vancouver....so I'll have to go with a local distributor for Tepui

If I were to do it all over again I would be looking towards CVT... just my $.02

Sub'd! Thanks for all the great insight. I'm leaning toward a CVT but unsure on the size to get. Does anyone have insight into the extended vs standard versions? Is it worth the extra ~$300?

I keep seeing the USB charging ports as an optional feature. How do you run power to the LED light and the USB charging ports? Those would be awesome to have.
