Bungie's Destiny

Referring to bungo... Its pretty awesome of them to do that

 

They "have" to do that. If they don't release Destiny 2 this year they stand to lose a lot of money. Activision (Bungie's parent Co.) directs the shots and if Bungie fails to deliver on D2 then they stand to lose a lot of stock. If you're referring to what they are doing before D2 comes out... It's too little too late for me. The code was always there to make the Raids retroactive. All they had to do was make a few tweaks here and there and flip the switch a long time ago.

 

Any word on destiny 2? Sorry if it's been covered. Just discovered this thread and there's too many pages to go through, lol. I haven't played in a while. Got my light level up to 394 but now it's taking too long and too much time to hit 400 so I haven't played in a month or 2. I think this is the only game I've ever had and still love coming back to it. Even though I'm hooked playing Doom online right now.

 

Destiny 2 has to release sometime at the end of the year. Sept. Oct. would be my guess. If you've only made it to 394 you still have plenty of stuff in the game to do and see. Do the raid. Hell... in a few weeks do all the raids. I would say collect everything you can but it won't matter in about 6 months since your character will be wiped of all of their stuff.

 

Yeah. I didn't think our character would transfer over. As for the raids, it's usually a buddy of mine back in my home state that I play online with and we can never get anyone to do raids so we haven't been able to do any since they require a fireteam of 6.

 

I would say join a 100.io group but they are starting to fade away from what they used to be. We had probably one of the more active groups around and there was always someone doing something. Now we're lucky if someone puts up something 4-5 times a week. I'm just as guilty as I don't schedule anything anymore since I'm not interested. I'll hop on and play with friends for some private PvP matches which are always a lot of fun. But when you have everything in the game there is no reason to log in, in my case.

 

Im not sure bungo has to put any time into d1 anymore but i didnt read the contract.

All im saying is that how many developers still put time into a 3 year old game? Weve had 9 CODs in that time.

 

And I suppose that's my case. Bungie has got to get into the routine of releasing content much faster than they are. If MMO's can do it then so can they. And MMO's are much more complex. And before you say that MMO's charge a monthly fee let's look at that. The only MMO that I know of right now that still charges a monthly fee is WoW (correct me if I'm wrong). Destiny disguises itself as a pseudo-MMO. But when microtransactions came into being they have made plenty of money off of Eververse just like all the other MMO's out there that charge microtransactions. So Bungie "could" release content faster if they wanted too. They just chose not to. D2 was actually supposed to come out last year but we got RoI instead because they weren't ready. I fear D2 is still being pushed and we'll be playing Destiny 2 beta all over again.

 

CoD is set up on a yearly schedule. Always has been and always will be. So you can't really compare the two. Destiny has no choice "but" to put time and effort into Destiny. Problem is it's too little too late now since none of the things you do now will carry over except the character you created without any of the items you worked so hard for.

 

Well.... It seems I'm done with Destiny for a while. Since they completely changed the Meta for crucible I've really got no primary's that will hold a candle to what is being used at the moment. It seems a good roll on the apple of discord is the go to weapon of choice at the moment and I've got nothing to compete with it at the moment (which really sucks since I deleted a shit ton of them before the patch thinking I'd never use them). Add to that I'm deadly with a sniper but if I die I have to wait until the special ammo comes back up before I can snipe again. What really sucks is I've gone to the Lighthouse 5 times now the weapons (which are supposed to be the best in the game) are basically useless. Sure the Blind Perdition can hold it's own but with a 23 round mag, going up against a fully auto (which I hate auto rifles) makes it pretty much a no contest. So right now I've got no counter and I'm forced to use a sidearm (which if I'm honest I don't mind) but I'd still rather use a sniper.

Again... I'm glad they are bringing back the new raids but it's too little too late. If they would have done this a year ago it would have been awesome. But what's the use??? Nothing carries forward. We get a few new weapons, ornaments, etc... Big fucking woot. If D2 is anything like D1 I figure my days are over.

It's sad when Titanfall's multiplayer is so much better and more fluid than Destiny. Rant over.

 

I still play daily, shit broke a personal speed run record last night with 57min w aksis challenge.

Crucible is still HC, but now with a lot if sidearm runners that do w body with one charged melee. The wormwood TTK is super close to a Eyasluna in the sweet range spot, closer its even deadlier.

Stikys run wild also, but i still run 2 fuckboi grenades and do work.

I use a pulse/sidearm and sometimes a Mida/sidearm and still getting 20+ 2.0-5.0 kd games.

Maybe you're just done? Thats fine tho, enjoy titan fall or pick up HZD.

Ive got some hope left for this game and the end of the month. Plus I finally pulled the trigger on a elite. Took advantage of two deals and got it free.

 

Oh and i forget Icebreaker and NLB are yuge in trials of skorri along with sidearm/sticky

 

sigh... i have so many hours into this game, 2 maxed characters, and decided to walk away right before getting to the RiseOfIron raid... I felt obligated to get on everyday or else id fall behind, anyone else feel that way. GTAV has been my go to lately.

 

Oh.. I've been playing the shit out of Horizon Zero Dawn.

Thing is with Destiny... They fucked up Crucible... They admitted it... and said fuckit... We'll release it anyway. I understand the rationale to get rid of the jug shotgunners which was fine but in the process they fucked up so much shit and went on and released it anyway. There is absolutely no way that a Auto rifle should be able to shoot across the map. We went into a private match to test them out and my Mida (depending on armor you are running) is a 2-3 shot kill with head shots. The apple of discord (from across the map I might add) too me down so fast that I couldn't get the third shot off. Fuck that shit. I don't play 6's. I only play 3v3 as it's closest to trials. I run double grenades on my hunter with smoke and that is a viable option.

As far as the raid goes I could give a shit about it. I've run it more times than I care to count and you get nothing of use out of it. All the weapons are the same so once you run it a few times there is no reason to go back into it. Aksis CM is simple and can be completed (with a competent team) in no time. I had 13 coins to drop into the fire and let my daughter drop them so she could fly up to the tower because it was fun to her. THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS GAME ANYMORE. I don't give a shit about the new raids. If your items carried forward then yes I might care. But they don't so what's the use???? The only thing I get is my original character that I created and all the shit I've worked for, for the last 3 years will be wiped.

 

I'll use the IB but I'm not fond of it. I'd much prefer my Winged Word and it's a head shot shooting machine. I don't mind NLB as I've learned to cancel the reload animation. Still not my favorite.

 

3 years with 4911 hours (not counting the original hunter I started at the first of the game and leveled to 26 and deleted) invested into a game they have essentially fucked up toward the end.

 

I have always been one of the last holdouts for this game but I'm done with it. It is so imbalanced at the moment it is no fun. Sure I could grind for the perfect crucible weapon but I'm done with that shit since in six (or less) months it won't matter. I completed everything in the game except getting the scarab emblem and I'm fine with that.

I'm stuck on For Honor since it actually requires real skill to play. You make one mistake and it's on you. The other player didn't get lucky they were just better and timed their hits better. I like that. And I love the progression system.

Well... if you had played through the alpha, and betas you might feel a little different. I understand that you don't have nearly as much invested in this game as I do. Don't get me wrong... I've had some great times in the game but they have completely ruined it for now.

 

Understood, i struggle with it as well sometimes.
I felt like a man without a primary that 1st week after the update. I just had to dig into my vault and start testing. I found that pulse is still very effective with the Partheon Shot and my Hawksaw, just as long as you pair it with a sidearm.

I do miss sniping and i cannot stand the Icebreaker optics
