No one is mad at the Leafs collaspe lol. It is a rookie team, they played 9 rookies regularly on the roster this year and most of their top scorers are under 21, so a collapse was sadly a likely option. If you look back the two Leafs fans on here, myself included, had them finishing somewhere between 9-11th in the east with a good chance to scare a playoff spot. That's right where they are on track to be with about a dozen games to go.

No team is safe once they are in. The Leafs have beat almost every team in the East this year except the Habs and Sens. They could make a series out of it with any team in the East as could Tampa Bay and New York. I wouldn't go counting on your repeat yet

As for Kane who really gives a shit. He's a turd as a person and I hope he dies in a fiery plane crash that leaves the rest of his team unharmed. Sorry, my opinion is showing there. How a league that plays a classy game like happy could get behind a guy whose been a bigger shit stain in public then any other high profile player in the last two decades is beyond me.

At some point the Flames are going to car wreck for a few games. Elliot has been playing out of his mind and even the Flames most inconsistent guys like Dougie, Benett, and Ferland have looked like top line NHLers for the last dozen or so games. The odds that all the members of that group plus the goalie can keep their shit together aren't great. Hopefully the collapse happens well before the playoffs and they get hot again going into the first series.

Still salty we let Dougie go... Personally I would have rather delt Chara while he was worth something and kept Dougie, but theres further dynamics there. Chara is sarting to turn the puck over in front of the net more and more. Tries to do too much sometimes, although his size is still an asset.

The Bruins have made plenty of shaky deals in the last few years. Dougie and Seguin come right to mind. It's a good thing that Marchand is playing out of his mind under the new coach. Without him there isn't enough team left to make the push that the Bruins have as of late. I'm not familiar with the farm system in Boston. Hopefully you have some promising players resting in the wings.

Chara is getting old. Same breakdown you see in a lot of defense man after 35, particularly ones that relied on great reflexes.

1st part I feel like you basically just repeated my point but got hung up on the 'being mad' part. Which all I meant by that is regardless of the outcome, it is a successful season for that team, no matter what happens from here on out.

Never said anything about a repeat. But there are some teams that I just don't think stack up. Most of those teams that end up in the Atlantic bracket only really have a chance because of the way the playoff format is. That works in two-fold since the first round is going to eliminate either the 2nd or 3rd best team in the East. So aside from that, I just can't see NYI, Sens or the Leafs making a serious run.

That is your opinion on Kane and that is fine. At least he plays the game straight up. So one could make the same argument against not wanting to see Marchand win the scoring title. All of his bullshit is done on the ice in plain sight. He may also be a douche in person, but that is besides the point. So to each their own.

Fair enough on the Leafs point. After seeing OZ-T occupy his time with knocking on the Leafs it gets a little old to hear someone try to imply that Leafs fans are over reaching.

I wouldn't underestimate the Atlantic at all. While there is no doubt that the Metro is the strongest division there has been a Cinderella story every year since the lockout and I'd be willing to bet that this year someone comes out of the Atlantic to seriously challange for a spot in the finals. Time will tell.

I guess I see a difference between Kane winning voted for awards (his Hart trophy) and players like Marchand possibly winning points based awards (Art Ross). If a player earns his award on the ice like the Art Ross by meeting an exact criteria it's hard to deny him that award. However, when a bunch of hockey writers who clearly don't give two hoots about what happens on or off ice as long as a player stands out in the league vote in said douche canoe then I feel that's a different story. This is a huge change from the past where players like Bobby Hull literally don't get honored by their former team because he beat his wife and everyone knows it. That being said the NHL did allow Bobby to be honored at the years Allstar game which kind of makes my point about the league changing to cater to scum. It ticks me off a bit knowing that my kid will have her hockey hero's decided by such clowns as the Professional Hockey Writers' Association and the NHL head office. I don't want to have to explain to her why Mr Accused Rapist and Cabbie Assault Robber is an MVP candidate every year. If players who pull that shit aren't disciplined in some way by the league, even if it's just awards snubs, then what example does it show for players coming up? That teams will only give a shit about what you do on the score sheet? That's why the NFL ended up where it is with violent crime. Anyways I'll get off my soap box now lol.

Ya man, I wasn't knocking the Leafs at all. It was meant as a compliment. I just think that you have Matthews putting up crazy numbers there and he has run a bit dry recently, which all players do. but he doesn't have enough help on his line to give him a boost. Hyman and Nylander are solid but still. The back end needs depth too. Goaltending I think they are good though. If they get in, more power to them. I would like to see them do well.

I think if there is going to be a story, in the east at least, I think it's going to be TB. I don't even really count that though, since they were my money-pool pick before the season started lol. Aside from them, I would be totally shocked if Pens, Caps or CBS isn't in the Finals. But you never know.

And I have no problem with people not liking Kane. It's just like here locally how some people don't like Big Ben for those reasons (Steelers). I honestly think Kane was irresponsible but at the same time there are 2 sides to those stories. I feel like from things I hear on XM, that Kane is very well respected as far as the players and coaches, in the league. So that helps him as far as that is concerned. While Marchand hasn't had any public issues that have been reported, it doesn't mean he isn't also a douche. And it seems like he is not as respected as far as players, coaches and media types. O' Sullivan calls him out on that stuff in the afternoon show (along with Burrows and others who play like that). Not to turn it into a Marchand vs Kane thing, but just giving an example of another unlikable player. But to each their own. Ensalades (and most Bruins fans) likes Marchand, and that is cool with me. And people can not like Kane, but I just like him and like to see him do well.

I'm sure i would feel differently about Marchand if he wasn't a Bruin. I dont mind Kane, he is fun to watch, and not as much as a pest as marchy i would say.

Diehard Ducks fan living in Canada here, before I get asked.... Kariya is the reason, and at the time they were a expansion club ( started cheering for them when Kariya was with Team Canada ) & the Ducks ofcourse.

Dad always said " I don't care who it is, but pick a team and stay with them ", and I have always remembered that .... the good and bad times.

    Go Ducks go babayyyyyy!

Meh just a little bump in the road to the playoffs. We played much better last night even though we couldn't seem to stay out of the sin bin.
We do have a rough schedule ahead but I think we will be ok. It's funny how people think you are struggling after the rout we have been displaying against all teams since the first of the year.

Kariya was badass. Loved him, when I was a kid.

Ya, I wouldn't be worried about that little blip on the radar. Caps are legit, everyone knows it. And every team has a stumble, so I don't think anyone makes too much of that streak. Good win last night though. My previous quote was mainly that I was happy that the Pens were running with them in the standings and we have so many guys hurt, that it is ridiculous.
