    Going nowhere right now, lol. I'm stuck at work until 5:15, so I'm planning on bolting home right after work and getting started on it while I've still got some daylight. I'm taking a lunch break this afternoon to go and get the parts from the local NAPA, so hopefully I'll be able to get 'er done tonight and get it back in service.

    Looks good but I'm with Noel on his one. Maybe when it warms up redo it to get rid of those crimps and solder the connections so you never have any problems

    Yeah... once it gets warmer out going to redo the wiring and stuff, so considering soldering it instead. Did it that way for now so I could at least hook it all up and get them mounted and working, since I couldn't really wait anymore... was getting too anxious.

    Agreed. Going to ask my pops for help on it when the time comes, since he's an electrician by trade, so he's the PRO at it. If you want a job well done, you gotta go to the PRO!

    My '84 had a couple of those behind the dash from a previous owner, and they let me down last summer when the charging system went out and I couldn't figure out why. Spent most of a Saturday testing parts and tracing wiring until I finally found them. Swapped them out for soldered connections and it fixed the problem, but...
    These were inside the cab, under cover, and not exposed to the elements but they still went wrong. Definitely swap 'em out when you're able to, because they will eventually fail on you.

    If you don't want to solder the connections, for whatever reason, you can use electrical tape to tightly wrap over the connector. Use a lot of tape and it'll be pretty much waterproof.
