I ordered mine on eBay- paid $11.68 on 2/28- mine just arrived on 3/14. So, two weeks from China- not bad.

... and they are pretty loose on the AC control posts. I removed a spring clip from the back of one of the original knobs and it does not fit into the the new knob. I was able to get the clip out without ruining the knob- I took a razor and enlarged one of the cutouts, grabbed the clip with needlenose pliers and pulled straight out. The last thing I wanted to do was wreck the OEM knob. Simple.

I just need to figure out how to get the new ones to stay on snug- I'm thinking electrical tape on the AC controls and then I'm not ruining anything.

    Some
you have to drill out the back of the new knobs for the insert to fit. I think it's a 17/64 drill bit but I can't remember

How did you get those spring clips in? Mine don't come close to fitting.

Thanks! Here's a dumb question... once you do that, obviously you lose the notch and have to properly set them into the backs. Is there enough tension to keep it in place or will the knobs spin around the clip?

A drop of thin super glue will keep that from happening

Mine were a little loose as well, so I put some teflon tape on the HVAC posts and tightened everything up nicely.

ooh- I like that one. I was thinking of how much fun (not) wrapping electrical tape would be. Teflon for the win!

I've never pulled the knobs off the AC controls- why is the fan speed control plastic and the others are metal? That seems odd since that's probably the one most used...?

Not worth it. For as cheap as these are it's kind of a scam to purchase "insurance".
