Yeah Erik's Tacoma started smoking and might have caught on fire if we weren't all on CB's to notify him one time at Rausch. Cause was faulty crimp clips

Haha, yeah, it did. It was frigging HOT that day, too. Upper 80's and pounding sun; I was covered in grime by the time I'd finished because absolutely everything was sticking to me. Dirt, dust, lint, myself...blech.

This is what happens when you develop high resistance in a wire connection. Granted, this a 110V bathroom heater, but the same can happen on 12V depending on the amps running through the circuit vs the wire size. The wire on the heater caught fire and, thankfully, broke loose before anything else was able to ignite.

 

I don't want any of that, that's for damn sure.

I'm managing. I just want to get out and do NH stuff.... And get laid...

The FJ is in pain.... The front suspension is royally fucked. UCA's are destroyed. Coilovers need to be rebuilt. Lower control arms need to be replaced. The rear shocks are totally blown. Rear links are bent. Every possible pulley is whining. OEM clutch is very close to needing replacement. New windshield broke. Cold air intake cap broke... I'm going crazy chasing shit around on this thing.

Only positive, is I'll be buying an STI this summer.

 

Bummer man. Sounds painful for sure. Make sure you post up some pics of that STi.

 

Jesus Christ what the hell did you do to that thing? How do you not have aftermarket lower links?

I shall! Shooting for a 2018 Red STI. Might hop on a special edition "Series." depending what happens. Would have LOVED the Series.HyperBlue from last year....

I Long Island'ed it.... Plus a year of abuse off road and no repair... Salt and performance suspension do not like each other....

Been working at the end of the driveway off and on all day today. Plows scraped the road after I went to bed last night and left me a nice 3' berm at the end of the road. Guess what froze and made it impossible to shovel? Been taking a small spade shovel to break it up piece by piece throughout the day and slinging across the road. Ready for spring to show up and stick around.....

 

Nope not yet. That and an electric metal-sticker machine are on the list, now that I have somewhere to work on my cars.
