Yeah, I have low miles on my '14 (33k), and it's got every-damn-thing... including upgraded leather seats.

Ive never had any problems with my trucks and the 4WD.
The only people I've heard say that drive 2WD. So I'm going to assume its a justification thing.

Exactly why I bought new, my 2013 has been great. No problems only has almost 40k though as I ride my bike a lot. Good kuck.

Just had a neighbor sell a 2012. He looked up blue book, tacked on 3000 more and it sold pretty quick.

People spend the same for used all day long.

Local dealer had a 2014 DCLB for $34k.

Same truck but 2017 was $32.8k.

    Sold in a week.

I pulled the trigger. Sitting next to my single cab, 5 lug taco. If anyone is in the Nashville area looking for a great 5 lug let me know lol.

You just found out why I drive a taco. I could have purchased a tundra extended cab for what I paid for my taco. I will drive this truck for 10 years, 180,000miles and get back possibly $20k after inflation. I paid 31,500 new.
$31,500-$20,000=$11,500.... $11,500/180,000= $.06 per mile. Now factor in the dependability (hopefully) of a taco and this becomes a no-brainer. I simply keep my truck spotless, maintained, and treat the frame to prevent rust. They are literally one of the cheapest vehicles on the road to own. I bought the 2015 on purpose to avoid the transition into the new models. I have seen my truck with 35,000 miles for sale (and it sold) for what I paid new. As tempting as it is to sell it, I have not found anything that I would rather own much less drive. The tundra would have been a great truck, but they don't hold the values as well as the tacos. Hopefully they will have the 3rd gen figured out by the time I decide to get a new truck. The scariest part of this is I have three guys that want "first shot" at my taco when I'm done with it. Now if I could just find a way to make the soccer moms to quit texting and driving. If I wrecked it I'm S.O.L!!!!

I would never pay ~$20k for a RWD truck, but that's because it doesn't fit my idea of a truck.

I picked up my single owner 09 AC 4x4 SR5 for $16k back in 2015, it had 115k miles. But I got really lucky. Here in SoCal you're lucky to find any used 2nd gen 4x4 for less than 20k. Mine was also an Access Cab and 6 Speed, which is undesirable here in bro-land.

Congrats on the purchase, looks like a great truck!

I just realized that it was a 2WD truck... These numbers continue to blow my mind

its fair. I would ask if they have service records or if it is an individual and they did the maintenance themselves then talk to him(her) and get an idea what kind of maintenance has been done it.
the 15 I have is the only vehicle ive ever bought new(3rd) Tacoma and always bought from an individual after being convinced they took care of it properly and would last
(the other two 93 and 01 are still on the road.)

I just checked Edmunds and KBB, they indicated my 06 4X4 SR5 4.0 auto with 58300 miles is worth $12K+ to 14K+ private party sale. I wonder if that is realistic? All DIY (OCD) maintenance recorded.

Resale value is one of the main reasons why I bought a Tacoma. I don't plan on selling it, but if/when I do, it will have a billion miles and I will still get good money for it. LOL
