So I deleted my previous post. I just called that number and after talking with a couple people they warrantied it no questions asked. Everyone was super helpful and polite. A company that stands behind their products or the products they sell goes along way in my book. They have a customer for life as long as they don't change drastically (I get that policies need to change as the business landscape changes) and I will tell my friends, and TW apparently, about this experience.

Wow, 1 hr ago HD was less than the scum of the earth. He gives you their regular customer service phone number you could have found anywhere and now it's the most immaculate company to have ever graced this fine planet.

 

It was yesterday. And my understanding from talking to the lady at the store was that I needed to contact husky not HD so dialing their corp number didn't seem like a viable option at the time. And I didn't say anything about an immaculate company just that this ended up being a great customer experience from what started as a shitty one.
