Please forgive my stupidity, but what is the "hopping" op was describing?
And what exactly do these shackles do for the truck? (serious post)

As far as that link, that just takes you to a page with a lot of items on it for sale. The shackles happen to be at the top, but that's not what the poster was referring too. There's the brace that OP was wondering about farther down the page.

Dang I missed the party, wow did this guy have some mis-information!
Not to mention when he was told what the problem was he started getting offended.

So OP if you happen to see this, you are 100% wrong in what you think you understand, it is simply the spring wrapping up and releasing the stored energy and repeating itself causing the hop which is felt during the release of that energy stored by the spring that has rotated and returning to its "Home" position.

I actually build traction bars for 1st gen and have complete designed them myself as well as a few improvements over time, completely eliminates wheel hop! Know why?? The axle cant twist anymore, or maybe it could be a coincidence? Shoot maybe I just got lucky? :p :bananadance:

Haha I dont do a whole lot of 1st gen parts anymore but I did sell over 100 sets! Have them on my own truck with a V8 and 400rwhp, with no hop! But my frame isnt cross braced, weird huh? :)

I think I speak for most of the people here when I say that we need some pictures of this v8 beast you speak of. Sounds very arousing

You and about 10,000 other people, lol. Its a Unicorn! It exists but you cant see it! OK fine I'll snap some pics to make sure I completely derail thread, might as well, OP was not willing to learn..plus he's no longer a member so.....MODS, if I post pics of said V8 5-lug first gen can I rename topic and become OP? Its not like anything here was actually useful, rather it was "I cannot take constructive criticism, even though it may benefit me", although some member may be a bit blunt, but hey if you cant take the heat GTFO of the frying pan!!!!
