Newb question... How Hi beams work?

    Alright, this is a serious newb question, but how do low beam to high beams work? Nothing moves does it? Please enlighten an idiot...

    there are two filaments in the bulb, upper and lower.

    I had a '99 Xtra Cab PreRunner SR5 V6
    Yup, 2 filaments, one for the low beam and when you hit the switch the one for the high beam lights up.

    Unless you have HID Conversion kit. Then the bulb would be pulled into the socket, at least that's what mine does. Retracts in and away from the shield.

    best way to learn is to go stand in front of your truck and look at hte lights..

    have somebody flip them on low, then to high. it'll all be prefectly clear then

    my bad, i should have made the instructions better....kneel down in front of the truck about a foot form the light. look into hte light assembly and then have your friend turn the lights on. i also think you should start with the hi beams.

    Yeah, i do have the HID's from Slim... Why I am asking is because I am thinking of getting some Halo lights like The End 's setup. I want to do a Hi beam with all 4 lights being on and the lows switch to high beam. It would be some wiring work, but I think I could get some serious light output...
