2017 Tacoma TRD Pro Thread

So with how the Pro has the TRD exhaust and it supposedly leads to more powahs, does it actually do so and if so, how much horsepowers do we reckon? Or is it alternative facts?

My PRO 6MT feels exactly the same as my 16 OR MT. I mean of course it MAKES me feel manlier, but butt dyno, it doesn't FEEL different.

 

So it just turns petrol into noise.

I have the Pelfreybilt hidden mount with a Warn Zeon 10S winch and cannot tell any difference in handling or braking.

 

Just ordered some WeatherTech floor mats and mudflaps. Was looking into an intake and was considering TRD v. URD...Does URD not make an intake for the 16+ Taco's?

Do you know the backspacing on these rims?

 

does that mean you cant lift the pro without changing the shocks?

 

Exactly, this suspension can't be adjusted. However, the pro has a factory 1-inch lift compared to other stock 16+ models, and a 2-inch lift compared to 15 and older models.

 

Argh. I'd like another inch. And larger tires.

 

Same, that's why il be installing king 2.5 mid travel with adjustable resi, later do same to rear with dakara leaf springs, giving me about 2.75 inch lift or +1.75 , do a CMC and pinch welds to fit 295/70r17s

 

We'd get hate (any maybe a little deserved) for upgrading the suspension already, but I'm with you. That little bit more height and tire size makes that much more difference in certain conditions/terrain.

Also ordered Kings 2.5s, but doing Deaver U402 springs. Don't know when that'll arrive though.

I put 285's with a Deaver pack. Only had to trim a minor amount of the fender wells and Deaver made me a custom pack for the weight I carry

 

So the TRD Pro has the same size tires as the Off Road?

Pros come with 265's

 

265-70-16. on my 17 off road.
But the Pro tires look bigger to me

 

Yes they do. Same tires as well. They look bigger due to the wheel being blacked out.

I guess the rims are more recessed as well or something. Its like a deepdish rim that make that tires look fatter then on the off road .
