What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Put some Bilstein 4600 rear shocks on today. Don't think they've ever been replaced hahaha. I have some Fox 2.0 coilovers that I'm stoked for! Along with some yellow stuff brakes.

 

I'm running dynapro MT 285/75 so fingers crossed but spacers aren't a turn off for me either just more money

 

Wheel spacers wont help with rubbing in the pinch weld area. They do help to keep from rubbing the frame if the wheel has too much BS. Those Level 8 wheels with 4" of bs wont have that issue.

 

Question for those that have done speaker upgrades... Got some 6.5" Hertz that I'm putting in the front doors. Found these on Crutchfield: 6.5 Adapters. I'm guessing that these won't provide the depth increase to prevent window contact/interference. Other than some MDF, anyone use different adapters? And I can't use the factory speakers as adapters... currently none installed. Thanks.

 

I just cut the stock ones that came...I can't imagine it would be a problem. I have pictures of my install....Somewhere on my build hahah

That's the easiest I've found, but the stock ones are long gone.

 

9 versions later..... I finalized my PCB boards and made the first ones today.

They're for the Theater light mod for side mirrors and mirror LED turnsignals. Uses 1 light for marker and turn signal. With the correct synchronized blink.

Yep took 3 tries. Finally got the method down. Tomorrow i get to drill 150 ish little holes in them.

 

Wow man, I didn't realize you were able to get that technical with electronics. So it'll be acting as if they were the OEM lights, in junction with all the factory stuff? Like the newer nicer vehicles that have those style of lights? That slow fade and not an abrupt off/on? That is really trick brotha.

 

Okay just reread your post. Yeah it sounds like it'll be synchronized as if it came with your taco. Killer.

 

Those PCB boards, excuse my ignorance, what is the function in regard to those circuits they're going into?

 

Yes sir. Next idea is ACC off delay. Some interior electronics will function after you turn key off as soon as you open the door they loose power. Radio and power windows comes to mind.

Upgraded LEDs for theater lights to really bright ones.

 

Turnsignal controller can handle up to 20amps per side max.
