and that's completely fair. Shame your dealer treated you badly. I do agree that hopefully it's not a "dealer's are shit" mentality.

I honestly think there's nothing wrong with giving maintenance stuff or simple jobs like oil changes to an apprentice, depending on where they work. We teach our apprentices that they should treat customer's vehicles like their own, and we very rarely have issues due to someone "not caring". I mean, we're not perfect and we do have mistakes but you can't control that

I actually am totally okay with mistakes happening. I'm pretty chill about stuff. As an example, I read these thread where "dealer scratched my new wheels, should I demand a new truck?" and I'm like, "shut up, you fucking loser, who cares". Mistakes are a fact of life. Get over yourself and your scratch.

My issue is more a general matter of lack of respect coming from the service adviser. Basically a "don't piss in my ear and tell me it's raining" scenario. If you piss in my ear, have the fucking stones to tell me that you just pissed in my ear. Don't lie about it, and then lie about your lies. Be honest and man up, and we'll be fine.

Bottom line, mistakes happen, lying about them is inexcusable.

    Thank. You. Very. Helpful.

I'm sure someone will address the oil question... because... not everyone is like you.

I can see that.. I put Mobile 1 synthetic in all my cars and trucks, might just continue the tradition.

Look in your maintenance booklet. Synthetic 0W-20 for 10,000 mi oil/filter changes. Go non-synthetic and your oil/filter change interval drops to 5,000 mi.

I haven't had no bad experience at the local dealer where I bought and have the oil changed. Mostly if just an oil change they'll get to you quickly. It's free. Done twice so far and both good experiences. The tech even disabled seatbelt beeper for me. Besides you get to sit in the waiting room and have all the free cherry slushies you want. I always end up with a brain freeze.

I use mine. I don't have the equipment to do it all myself. I've been taken care of pretty well by my dealership over the years, so I have confidence in the future too

Yes I was wrongly accusing "kids" for being incompetent. My personal experience is most people don't give a shit about anything but themselves. My first visit to my dealer to get my windows tinted per sales negotiaton, the "tech" was approx 5'6" same as me but was approx 350lbs . Now if he refuses to take care of himself whatever but watching him bounce himself around in/on my seats and cab infuriated me. There are many good techs out there but the likelyhood there changing oil is slim to none.

I'm done ,was asked ,so I gave a example.biggest part I'd say are my own issues, OCD perfectionist, especially with my vehicles. I'm trying to not be so anal.

I'm in the dealer once every other month anyway for warranty work so why not have them do the oil change. It's only two of them anyhow.
