Clutch Slip After Dealer Installed TRD Supercharger

UPDATE 5:

URD Stage II arrived & awaiting.........

I met with the district service & parts manager and regional manager today. Every warranty claim needs to be reviewed based on the facts particular to the individual case & without going into settlement detail.

Install to be completed:
URD Stage II Clutch/Pressure Plate & New OEM Throw Out Bearing
Flywheel Surfaced


I have to say that based on our meeting, Toyota was more than accommodating & I await the call to take my Tacoma home!

 

Awwwww should have upgraded to the URD throw out bearing while you have the tranny ripped open.

 

Interested to hear how you like the Stage II with the supercharger. I have mine with TOB fix kit waiting in the garage as I have gotten some slight clutch slip at hwy speeds in 6th.

PS guys, any upgraded clutch you throw in is a big step up from OEM. If you really want a little more quickness, grab a lightweight flywheel. I surprise people quite often with how quick my truck is. I won't win any top speed races or anything, but I can get up to the speed limits pretty damn fast

 

UPDATE 6:

Dropped the fully loaded (loaner) 2017 Sport at the dealer & picked my truck. Feels weird going back to a 15 after driving a 17!

I cannot tell any difference in clutch pedal feel from the stock clutch vs the URD Stage II except now when I need to move, no slippage from 50+ mph

Just like it should be!

I am happy that the reps from Toyota were accommodating. YMMV, but in my case as long as they keep their word when it comes time to ordering parts & accessories, I am pleased with the overall outcome.

 

Your URD Stage II kit slips with a TRD supercharger? Any other power upgrades? My clutch has slipped a few times and I was hoping the Stage II would fix it...

 

I'm sorry but if your clutch is slipping with a stage 2 still, either your flywheel is glassed over at this point, or your clutch is fucked already from poor clutch usage. IIRC the stage 2 is rated for 440hp, theres no way youd be getting that or even close off of a TRD S/C.

From reading the post from Clemsontaco, I think he is having the same problem I was having! My reading of his post is that he has the parts "waiting in the garage" not in his truck. His stock clutch is slipping!
