I just went slower over speed bumps. It basically happens if you dont slow down. But even with my Stage V Icons, if I dont slow down, they will clunk..

Ahh so if you drive normal and avoid nasty potholes and hit bumps at a reasonable speed then you won't hear this clunk? How as the clunking off-road?

I didnt really hear it off road. But there were other things I was paying attention to. I only took it to Peter's Mill, and Rausch.

But yes, correct, avoid potholes and you will be fine. I dont think its damaging either, unless you are doing it all the time, on purpose

When you say clunking...like does it bottom out at some point? I know with my coilovers I had before going LT I never bottomed them out. Maybe it could be worth it in just getting some coilovers and some rear leafs in time? I know @TacoCat has some great coils!

thats what the clunk is. The internal part of the shock bottoming out.

Why are you worrying about this? thinking of ditching LT?

Good to know. Some guys made it seem like they clunked ALL the time. I can avoid potholes for sure. Still have 24hr lift debates in my head. It never ends.

Is King or Icon in your list? you dont need to get fancy with external reservoirs, but the rebuildable part is what helped me with my decision. Cant rebuild OME

Everything is on my list. :) I have literally gone through every setup imaginable during this process. The only reason I'm thinking about just going with an OME or Bilstein setup is that I don't get off-road as much as I want, so I figured I'd save a little $$$ to spend on OTHER truck stuff.

That is pretty much my reasoning, I do not off-road enough to justify the expense of Kings or Icons.

makes sense. I had an OME setup before my current Icons. I dont get off road as much as Id like, but Im trying. And @Lots2Learn58 has been making me go winter camping more than once.

I worry because some of our fellow TWers might get this kit like @boogie3478 (dude my cat has the same name)! It sounds to me though that it shouldn't be that serious of an issue from what you guys describe. I only wanted to provide input that with my Kings, I never found speed to be a limitation with them which might sound of some concern by going OME. Just figured I would add some insight in case OME proves to not be as beneficial to these guys.

Love LT man, eats everything up FOR DAYZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

And after I finally decided on my lift I get to have the tire headache choice to make. Pretty sure I'm going with 255s though.

Unless you want to CMC, I would strongly recommend 255s. Also I think 285s have a bigger footprint causing more of a hit in gas mileage. The good thing is the ST Maxx's are made in that size which seems to be a really good tire.
