Like Otis said, there are many of us here who are (or will be) engineers of some sort. Scotty hasn't taken the FE so he technically isn't one...

I'm a mechanical engineer by day for the gas company, doing boring and monotonous bullshit whilst imprisoned in a stuffy little cube to bring home almost enough change to cover bills, toys, and my girlfriend's fish obsession.

And by night I wear a black neoprene suit and cape and beat up unsuspecting Ford owners.

I would like to see anybody with their FE stamp off on something, oh wait you can't. FE doesn't make you an engineer. Take another stab at it lol (you're only one letter off)

I was having the conversation with scotty a bit ago. 90% of the companies make them out of 3/16" steel or 1/4" aluminum. As long as they are bent and welded up they are all the same. just looking for best value at that poinbt and RCi was cheaper shipped than All Pro was with their free shipping. RCI as $256 to the door. All Pro is $269.00 before shipping. I dont give a crap about some companies logo.

You are correct, but FE can be taken anytime before the PE. I need to quit putting it off, but the FE in no way makes you an engineer lol

We're all just people with engineering degrees, until we have our PE. Thankfully for this being my first job my boss is a PE so I'm getting the years underneath one that I have to have.

I only got like 2.5 left now. But I doubt I'll get a PE. Hell, I have my doubts I'll even still be an "engineer" by then.

No I mean a lot of companies won't hire someone with a degree that doesn't also have EIT certification.

OOOOOOooooh got ya. Yeah you're right there. I got lucky with my job and my boss was looking for a recent graduate with near zero experience so he could basically mold me to be another him.

I will get my PE for the raise it provides. Plus it opens other job opportunities if the need arises. In all honesty, I'd be fine spending my entire working career with this company.

My co-op I had, I was well ready to spend my whole career there. But I haven't worked at or interviewed anywhere that gave me the impression I wanted to be there more than a year, to be completely honest.
