I have 2 car seats in the back of mine and it's fine. I could fit 3 back there.

You will need the Diono Radian XT though to fit 3 across, which are not cheap but they are damn good seats.

I can still access the under-seat storage on one side.

My wife is 5'1" though...so the seat behind her is used for car seats. If we were both tall it wouldn't work so well.

yeah and it's got this Russian computer that comes out of an old Lexus model so you can run without the simulated Atkinson cycle. The computer weighs like 30 pounds and has to sit in the bed of the truck. You'll need to find a way to keep it water resistant.

Isn't it amazing all the people who buy this truck thinking it was a dragster.

If you love the truck besides the lack of low-end power, regearing is your best bet. If you have doubts about it in general, in addition to the lack of power, sell it and move on. You'll forget about the couple thousand you lose on trade-in a year from now.

Its not a dragster but it should out run a first gen. Thoes guys played it off like we'll the first gen is lighter and a manual.... well the 3rd gen has 90 more hp. And probably 100k less miles on it... Oh and it's 15 years newer... The second gen was not a dragster either... but at least it can get out of its own way.

I am not a lead footed person but mine gets out of its way with a little push of the gas. Use your right foot a little and good things will happen. To many people think that if they barely push the gas it should throw them back in their seats.

I will be interesting to see over the next 2 years. I think the issue most people have is with this update to the tacoma it should have been a bit stronger in the motor. With the Bronco/Ranger coming back and with the jeep truck thing said to release I can't wait to see who keeps there 3rd gen and who bails.

In my eyes toyota got complacent and gave us a weak truck. They have competition coming and they should have stepped up.

In my opinion, i don't think these trucks are gutless. I think the throttle mapping makes them feel that way because you have to push the pedal down quite a bit more than you do on most vehicles in order to get some "passing power". However, once you put the hammer down it gets up and goes pretty good. Yeah it isn't a LS1 but it is more than adequate for this truck.

The word adequate = Toyota resting on their laurels

At the end of the day, it is probably the Employment Prevention Agency that forced Toyota to axe the 4.0L and replace it with the 3.5L. But unlike anyone else on this forum, or so it seems, i test drove my truck before i bought it and knew i wasnt buying a 400HP F150

I'm in my 50s and I owned a lot of 70s Muscle Cars back in my day and raced them at Englishtown Dragway in New Jersey, Most ran stock 0 to 60 times in the 6s to to upper 7s . The Tork nailed you to you're seat but they were all very heavy cars. My 2016 Tacoma is in the upper 7s which is fine by me considering I have a truck to Run my Landscaping company to pull my Utility Trailer. Now if you want to Drag Race get a Z06 Corvette 0 to 60 in 2.95 seconds now that's crazy fast!!! :bikewheelie2:

You can get a Cummins Ram with a 6spd manual.
