mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
    This.

Instead of straight black, olive, etc., I've done ok on some versions that I tied. Brown/red tail, black/white saddle hackle, various body colors, mix it up with what you have.

Wondering if anyone has a rod vault on the top of their truck. Is Denver Outfitter the only manufacturer of a product like that?

I've been looking for one myself, I'll have to look into Denver Outfitter since I haven't really found what I'm looking for yet.

It seems like a really nice product and really what I would want. My only problem is expected arrival for purchase now would be in august...Not ideal.

Oh yes - I can see that being an issue.

I was also considering the Rod Vault earlier this year, but decided against it. I have the Leer 180 mid rise cap with Yakima 1A towers & bars. Combine that with the mounting hardware that comes with the rod vault, it would be way too high. I don't have enough bar overhang out the outside of the mount to hang the Rod Vault underneath. I figured I can simply get by the same way I always have.

Definitely a nicety and not a necessity, but still would be nice to speed up getting out there...high demand for it must mean it's something worth having. But I can totally see where you're coming from. That's why if I do it I don't want to speed that kind of money and have to wait!

I think's the company under new ownership and it's a smaller crew, thus the turnaround time is a bit longer. My current set up for my fly rods is this. I have a cargo net mounted on this inside of my cap roof. I have the plastic cargo net hooks aligned in rows (3) an I tied para-cord loops on the hooks (small loop in front, medium loop in middle and large loop on reel end). I simply break down a rod in half and tighten the line and slip the rod through the loops. Being so light they barely stretch the net. They're spaced apart far enough so they don't bump into each other.

I usually have three rods in the lineup - all 9' 5wt:

    Full Floating line
Sink tip with 10' intermediate sink tip/head
Sink tip with 25' heavier shooting head.

    Covers almost all potential scenarios.

That set up works if you have a cap (granted, it sounds like most of fly fishermen here have one), maybe I should just be looking for one of those instead...

Here's my net when I first installed it. Only two rows then and no para-cord. But you get the idea.

Orvis rod broke on the first outing, you wouldn't believe the hassle to get it fixed. They also wanted $60 fee for some reason. Never buying a rod from them again

I just got an email stating my is being shipped... Placed my order back in October! Was given a Feb delivery date originally. Checked back mid-Feb and was told they were running behind about a month. Hopefully it will be worth the wait, but I've been reading some mixed reviews lately.

Denver Outfitters recently took over and are trying to move everything back to the States... Great plan and hopefully it works out, but apparently there have been some issues along the way.

Back in my old 1st Gen Tacoma, I used to keep my rods in the back of the camper with some p-cord rigging across the ceiling. I'd open the truck's back glass and camper slider window and pass the rod tips into the cabin. I then had another section of p-cord rigged up front using the grab bars. Worked pretty well for 2-3 9ft rods.

Wow. Totally opposite of my experience with them. In the past couple years my buddy and I have broken at least five. Walk into the store, they give us a loaner while they fix or replace em. Only time money was exchanged was when one of the poles was upgraded which I expected.

May have been because it was a cheaper rod. But if its junk and not worth their time then why do they sell it?

I don't think their entry level rods carry the 25 year unconditional warranty. I will say that all of the rods that I've broken (been a few lol), all were from user error... I've never had one just break on its own
