It varies by state, but you have to have passed the FE and be registered as an EIT for a certain number of years before you can apply to take the PE exam. That's why I'm waiting until I move to GA and start my big boy job there to register as an EIT (took/passed the FE over the summer).

EDIT: During those EIT years, you have to work under a registered PE.

true, it does differ. I only know Alabama.

 

I believe in AL it's two years you have to be registered and working with a PE. BUT, the PE doesn't have to be your direct supervisor. That's why when UA got that new president, there was a lot of excitement for the engineering staff who hadn't got their PE yet, because he has his PE license.

It's finally having 4wd that's made him big headed.

It's like the Big Bang theory for him. he can actually make all 4 wheels work now not just two.

 

Got to costco at 845 per their instructions. Didn't open until 10. Came back at 930 to be 5th in line. Oh well. On a different note I'm definitely not a beer connoisseur like some of yall, just miller lite. Anybody tried the costco beer? Couple of guys on the railroad swear by it

Just four years of professional experience. Of which you have to have a PE vouch for your experience.

 

Oh right. I thought you were saying 4 years between the FE and PE lol.

Nah, sorry. I know in Texas, my buddy just took the PE and passed but you don't get your certification until you've gotten the 3 or 4 years. That's a pretty good setup.

 

Man we need to go Saturday so I can go. I don't get off til 4...

 

I wish I could ride this weekend but i gotta work Saturday from 3am-3pm and I've got a family gathering that afternoon.

 

I like that! I wish I had taken my FE in college, but no teachers ever really told us about it or said we'd need it. At this point it doesn't matter when I take it I've forgotten most everything anyways.

 

Yeah I'm in Gatlinburg this weekend for bachelor trip so I'm out.
